Accounts shared across your Home Assistant household

All authenticated Home Assistant users can now view and edit accounts, budgets, transactions, portfolios, reports, exports and existing connections, including records created before this release. An optional Home Assistant user assignment identifies the account holder without restricting access.

Home Assistant administrators create accounts, budgets, connections and other financial setup records, and restore backups. Members can record transactions and modify existing data. These role checks are enforced on the server. Connection keys stay server-side, and native sensor publication remains opt-in.

Connect Lunch Flow while adding an account

In Accounts → Add account, choose an enabled Lunch Flow connection and then a remote account. Saving creates and links the local account together; a failed link does not leave an extra account. Leave the connection empty for a manual account. The selectors are absent when no connection is enabled.

Saved links and Unlink controls appear on account cards and journals. Existing unlinked accounts can be connected through Edit account. Finance settings retain connection creation, rename and synchronization. Links request all available bank history, and supported investment holdings continue to appear in Investments.

Validation and upgrade

  • 195 Python tests and 17 browser tests against a real disposable Home Assistant instance, including member access, administrator creation checks, HTTP restore protection, budget regressions and English/French desktop/mobile account linking.
  • Python/frontend, Home Assistant manifest and HACS checks on GitHub.
  • Lunch Flow provider responses are representative fixtures; a real bank connection still requires an authorized test key.

Update to 1.2.0 in HACS, restart Home Assistant and refresh open browser tabs. Existing budgets, journal data, identifiers and reserve calculations are preserved. Previously private accounts become shared household accounts as described above.
