This is a high-level overview over the RADICAL-Pilot architecture (Online Version)

RP is architected as a distributed network of components, where each component manages exactly one pilot or unit state. Additional worker classes and resource abstractions are used by the components. Communication between components is performed via ZMQ bridges, or over a remote database (for the communication between client and pilot agent).
