Release list
FalconSDR 1.0.0
FalconSDR 1.0.0 - a wideband SDR scanner that records only the transmissions it actually stops on, with a browser interface that works on the computer itself or from any phone or PC on your network.
What's new since 0.9.0
- Schedule (new tab): time ranges on chosen weekdays, each with its own bands and Memory List - e.g. airband during the day, fire service at night, something else on Mondays. Between the ranges scanning either pauses or continues as usual - your choice. Overlapping ranges scan everything any of them selects.
- More ways to install on Linux:
.rpmfor Fedora/openSUSE, an AppImage for most other distributions, an Arch AUR package and a one-line installer - thanks to @9M2PJU! - "Edit band presets" shortcut next to the band list on the Listen page.
- Recency boost (extra visits to a frequency right after it was active) now sits at the bottom of the Receiver panel on the Listen page.
- Settings: clearer order; the default blacklist margin moved to Channels → Blacklist.
- Windows installer: the license is shown for information - there is nothing to accept.

Linux one-line installer (picks the right package for your distribution):
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/rafafunt/FalconSDR/master/packaging/install.sh | bash
Arch Linux: yay -S falconsdr (the AUR package is updated by its maintainer, it may follow a little later).
macOS builds are experimental: built automatically and self-tested, but not yet tried on a real Mac with an SDR. They aren't signed by Apple - right-click the app → Open; if macOS says it "is damaged", run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/FalconSDR.app.
Before you start
- Windows: the RTL-SDR needs the WinUSB driver once (Zadig) - the installer shows how. The program isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn: More info → Run anyway.
- Linux (.deb/.rpm): unplug and replug the dongle once after installing. The AppImage installs nothing: on a machine without RTL-SDR software, add the udev rule once (see
packaging/appimage/README.md). - Listening to and recording some radio services is restricted or illegal in many countries - check the law where you live.
Upgrading
Install over the previous version - settings, the Memory List and recordings are kept.

macOS builds are experimental: built automatically and self-tested, but not yet tried on a real Mac with an SDR. They aren't signed by Apple - right-click the app → Open; if macOS says it "is damaged", run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/FalconSDR.app. Feedback in Discussions is very welcome.
Other systems (Fedora, Arch, Raspberry Pi…): run from source, see the README.
Before you start
- Windows: the RTL-SDR needs the WinUSB driver once (Zadig) - the installer shows how. The program isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn: More info → Run anyway.
- Linux: unplug and replug the dongle once after installing.
- Listening to and recording some radio services is restricted or illegal in many countries - check the law where you live.
Known limitations
- Tested with an RTL-SDR Blog V4 on Linux and Windows 11; other receivers (via SoapySDR) and the macOS builds are untested.
- The packaged builds support RTL-SDR only; other hardware needs the source install with SoapySDR.
