codex-z 0.3.2

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 01 Oct 22:01
  • Run release checks within the release workflow without a separate main CI run.
  • Fix release test assertions for tag and commit validation.
  • Stop building and publishing macOS x64 packages. macOS releases support Apple Silicon.

codex-z 0.3.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 01 Oct 21:11
  • Fix "Error submitting message: Task … was created, but its first message was not sent: External Thread does not support thread/inject_items". Recent Codex Desktop versions send thread/inject_items when a new task is created. The Host now acknowledges it for External Threads, so the first message is sent. The injected items are not forwarded to the External Harness.

Download the macOS or Windows installer for your architecture from the release assets.

npm publication is pending authentication. This release provides GitHub installers. Linux npm packages are built and tested in the release workflow, but this version is not published to npm.

CI tests do not verify behavior in a live Codex Desktop.

codex-z 0.3.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 01 Oct 20:44
  • Add Avg TPS to Settings → Usage. This is the average output token rate across measured Turns, including Tool calls and other waits.
  • Estimate native Codex cost from token counts at standard API rates. A leading ~ marks an estimate; it does not show the amount paid for a subscription. Models with no known rate show no cost.
  • Show the concrete Claude Code Model reported by the API in Usage history.
  • Add Reset to Settings → Usage. Reset clears the visible history. Earlier records stay on disk to keep the counter baseline for later Turns.
  • Ask before an update restart stops running work. Choose Stop and restart, Update when idle, or Cancel.
  • Fix CI failures in update request types, formatting, and tests for Model labels and CI cancellation.

Download the macOS or Windows installer for your architecture from the release assets.

npm publication is pending authentication. This release provides GitHub installers. Linux npm packages are built and tested in the release workflow, but this version is not published to npm.

CI tests do not verify behavior in a live Codex Desktop.

codex-z 0.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 01 Oct 19:57
  • Add Settings → Usage: compare Models on the work you actually did. Each row shows Sessions, Turns per Session, the share of Turns you stopped, and time, cost and tokens per Session, over 7 days, 30 days or all time. Columns are sortable. (#13)
  • Record one line per completed Turn, for external Harnesses and native Codex, in ~/.codex-z/usage-ledger/turns.jsonl. The ledger keeps identifiers, the Model, timing, counters and the project path. It never stores prompts or Transcript text. (#13)
  • Refresh the README with a product overview and screenshots. (#14)

Recording starts with this version; earlier Sessions are not included. Cost is each Harness's own estimate and appears only where the Harness reports one; native Codex reports tokens and time but no cost. The first Turn after importing or forking a Session has no cost or tokens.

Download the macOS or Windows installer for your architecture from the release assets.

npm publication for v0.2.0 is pending authentication. The Linux packages passed their build and installation smoke tests, but v0.2.0 is not available from npm yet.

Usage recording and the summary have automated test coverage. The Usage page has not been verified in a live Codex Desktop.

codex-z 0.1.1

@github-actions github-actions released this 01 Oct 17:25

Changes

  • Add Other → Report a bug in Codex-Z settings. The GitHub form includes the installed app version; users submit the report themselves. (#1)
  • Register new external Threads before their first Turn events, so Desktop receives the Thread before its Turn starts. (#11)
  • Prevent concurrent writes to an external Session after SSH reconnect. Connections share a lease for Turn starts, configuration changes, and history changes. (#12)
  • Preserve active status during reconnect, reopen stale Session handles after the previous Turn finishes, and keep history recovery read-only while another connection owns the lease. (#12)
  • Drain accepted input before denying pending Approvals and cancelling Questions after disconnect. Remove lease listeners when connections close. (#12)

Installation

Download the macOS or Windows installer for your architecture from the release assets. Use the same codex-z version on local and remote machines for SSH workspaces.

npm publication for v0.1.1 is pending authentication. The Linux packages passed their build and installation smoke tests, but v0.1.1 is not available from npm yet.

Validation limits

Reconnect and event-ordering fixes have automated test coverage. They have not been verified in a live Codex Desktop SSH workspace.
