Building a disc (PS2)

RavenDS edited this page Apr 21, 2026 · 1 revision

Building a PS2 SingStar disc is easy and requires no extra files.

Each PS2 disc can hold a maximum of 100 songs.
There is no enforced limit, but anything above that threshold may lead to in-game crashes and unexpected behavior due to PS2 memory limitations.

Disc Settings

When selecting PS2 as the target, you will be presented with various disc export settings.

Language

Currently available languages: English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.

Menu Music

This option lets you choose between the original menu theme, a custom one, or disabling it entirely.

Custom Logo

This option lets you choose a custom title screen logo. The required format is 512x256 BMP. Colors will be quantized automatically.

SST2 Export

This option exports each converted song as SST2 files for later use in other PS2 discs.
The SST2 files' purpose is to save conversion time when reusing the same songs in other discs, but will use more disk space (PC).

Running the Disc

The generated PS2 ISOs can run on PS2 using OPL, or as a regular ISO on a backwards-compatible PS3 (NOT via disc-swap).

Compatibility with CECHA/CECHB/CECHC PS3 is 100% tested and RECOMMENDED.

Compatibility with OPL isn't ensured for ISOs > 4GB.
