v1.0.4 - Critical Authentication Bug Fix
π Critical Bug Fix: 401 Authentication Error
This release fixes a critical bug where the plugin continued to show 401 authentication errors even after users properly configured their API keys in settings.
What was fixed?
- β Services now properly re-initialize when AI provider settings (API keys, base URLs, models) are changed
- β All AI providers (Grok, Gemini, OpenAI) now correctly update their authentication credentials without requiring plugin reload
- β No more frustrating "Request failed, status 401" errors after configuring API keys!
Root Cause
Services were initialized once during plugin load with initial settings (empty API keys). When users entered API keys in settings, the settings were saved but services weren't recreated. Services continued using old instances with empty API keys, causing 401 errors.
Technical Solution
Added initializeServices() call to all 9 AI provider setting onChange handlers:
- Gemini API Key, Base URL, Text Model
- Grok API Key, Base URL, Model
- OpenAI API Key, Base URL, Model
This ensures service instances are recreated with updated API credentials immediately after any configuration change.
Installation
