Monkey TV v0.04-alpha — Build #2
Pre-releaseWhat’s new since Build #1
- Polished Home into a responsive, artwork-led streaming launcher with service-card interaction and custom drag-and-drop ordering.
- Added the built-in Default Services / Manage Services library, including bundled official artwork, filtering, bulk selection, and safe built-in/custom service handling.
- Refined service viewing with Forward navigation, keyboard navigation shortcuts, restart and site-data actions, a subtle navigation indicator, and clearer error details.
- Corrected Escape handling so an active streaming website owns Esc while Monkey TV fullscreen is active; Home can resume the suspended service.
- Reorganized Settings with focused General, Home, Appearance, Streaming, Storage, and About sections.
- Added startup, fullscreen, close-confirmation, motion, new-custom-service experience, and external-link preferences.
- Hardened storage and recovery: safe temporary-data cleanup, reset-all-website-data, bounded diagnostics, rotating known-good configuration backups, corrupted-config recovery, startup recovery mode, and reset-with-backup support.
- Added an optional portable Data-location move. A copied app folder on a different PC automatically returns to its adjacent default Data folder.
Current Location (alpha)
Current Location remains optional browser-level Nord SOCKS5 geographic routing, not a full-device VPN or absolute zero-leak boundary. Monkey TV always starts Direct; it never reconnects Nord automatically. QUIC is disabled in Monkey TV’s WebView and WebRTC protection is best effort. Real Nord authentication, provider compatibility, streaming playback, and WebRTC behavior require manual alpha testing.
Known alpha limitations / testing requested
This build has passed the available automated smoke suite and a clean Release build. Please hands-on test the new Home, service lifecycle/resume, toolbar actions, Settings, storage/recovery prompts, custom Data location, Current Location, login persistence, fullscreen, and streaming-provider playback with your own accounts. Provider-specific DRM/playback compatibility is not claimed.
