v1.3.1 — installer fix
Fixed
- "Prepare game" stopped at the Recompiler step ("Something went wrong: CMake Warning (deprecated) ..."), and pressing it again stopped right after "Version fija 2c5fbb9 de PS2Recomp" (#1). Windows PowerShell 5.1 turned harmless warnings that CMake and Git print on stderr into fatal errors. The installer now judges each tool by its exit code only, and the logs in
C:\NBAStreetRecomp\logsare plain UTF-8. - CMake and Git already installed on your PC (on
PATH) are used instead of downloading portable copies.
Nothing else changed: same game, renderer and patches as v1.3 (the comparison videos are attached to v1.3).
How to play / update
Download NBAStreetV3-PC-1.3.1.zip, extract it (over your old folder is fine), double-click Launcher.cmd, choose your own NBA Street V3 ISO and click Prepare game. Steps that already finished are reused, so an interrupted install continues where it stopped. Then PLAY.
v1.3 — NVIDIA DLSS with real depth, AMD FSR 1, Smooth Motion, smoother heavy scenes
What's new
- NVIDIA DLSS now gets the game's real depth buffer every frame (PS2 Z, inverted), so DLSS — and add-ons that hook it, like the neural rendering options in DLSS Swapper / the NVIDIA app — have proper scene depth.
- Upscaling to your screen: AMD FSR 1 (any GPU) or NVIDIA DLSS (RTX), chosen in the launcher or the in-game graphics menu (F1 / hold START).
nvngx_dlss.dllis downloaded by the installer from NVIDIA's official DLSS repository. - NVIDIA Smooth Motion (driver frame generation, RTX 40/50) checkbox in the launcher.
- Performance: DMA chains copied in one prefetched pass (3x cheaper), recycled buffers, lock-free IRQ checks, faster scheduler lookups → fewer drops in heavy scenes.
- Fixed a PCSX2 Vulkan bug where compute shader specialization constants were never set.
Videos
The same minute of a real match rendered twice from one recorded session (1080p60):
- NBAStreetV3-native-vs-DLSS.mp4 — split screen: original PS2 resolution (640x448) on the left, this port with 2x internal resolution + NVIDIA DLSS + HD textures on the right.
- NBAStreetV3-native-PS2-1080p.mp4 — full screen, original PS2 look.
- NBAStreetV3-DLSS-HD-1080p.mp4 — full screen, DLSS + HD textures + 16x anisotropic filtering.
How to play
Download NBAStreetV3-PC-1.3.zip, extract it, double-click Launcher.cmd, choose your own NBA Street V3 ISO and click Prepare game (only once), then PLAY. HD textures are installed automatically (from the v1.1 asset).
No game files are included: the game is rebuilt on your PC from your own disc image.
NBA Street V3 PC v1.2
Download NBAStreetV3-PC-1.2.zip (the only file you need), unzip it and open Launcher.cmd. The HD textures are downloaded automatically.
New in 1.2 — performance
- Fixed a game thread that could get stuck in a false DMA timeout during matches and steal CPU for the rest of the session (matches dropping to 45-53 fps).
- IOP (sound/IO processor) overhead cut from ~20% to ~6% of the game thread.
- The EA sound driver's software mixer now runs natively (verified byte-identical to the original).
- Long display lists (more than 4096 DMA tags) are no longer cut short.
- Faster generated code and lighter communication with the renderer.
Matches now run at about 59-60 fps; very heavy moments can still dip briefly (being worked on).
Already on 1.1? Unzip 1.2 over it and press Repair in the launcher to rebuild the game with the new patches.
