Installation
The CLI is one binary, reportmateutil (reportmateutil.exe on Windows), with
no runtime dependencies. The tool is named reportmateutil so that
reportmate stays the name of the ReportMate app.
The ReportMate apps for Mac and Windows bundle the binary from these releases,
so a machine that runs the app already has it: on a Mac it sits inside the app
with a /usr/local/bin/reportmateutil link, and on Windows beside the app in
C:\Program Files\ReportMate. On such a machine the CLI also picks up the app's
saved connection (connection.json on a Mac, the shared registry settings on
Windows), so there is nothing to configure (see Configuration).
Every push and pull request builds the full set as workflow artifacts. A
v<calendar-version> tag (for example v2026.09.11.1807) publishes the same
set as a GitHub release in one step, after every platform has built.

Each tarball holds the single binary. Everything is unsigned and unnotarized: the public build produces unsigned artifacts, and an organisation that deploys the tool signs and notarizes it with its own identity. There is no checksum file and no package-manager distribution.
Install the package:
sudo installer -pkg ReportMateUtil-2026.09.11.1807.pkg -target /
Or extract a tarball and move the binary onto your PATH:
tar -xzf reportmateutil-universal-apple-darwin.tar.gz
sudo mv reportmateutil /usr/local/bin/reportmateutil
A downloaded unsigned binary may be blocked on first run. Clear the quarantine attribute:
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /usr/local/bin/reportmateutil
tar -xzf reportmateutil-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu.tar.gz
sudo mv reportmateutil /usr/local/bin/reportmateutil
Windows 10 and 11 ship tar. Extract reportmateutil.exe and place it in a
directory on your PATH; pick the aarch64-pc-windows-msvc archive on Arm.
tar -xzf reportmateutil-x86_64-pc-windows-msvc.tar.gz
A stable Rust toolchain is all you need. TLS is rustls, so there is no OpenSSL dependency.
git clone https://github.com/reportmate/reportmate-cli
cargo build --release
The binary is target/release/reportmateutil. The release profile strips
symbols and enables LTO. A local build reports the Cargo package version; set
RM_VERSION at build time to stamp a calendar version.
RM_VERSION=2026.09.11.1807 cargo build --release
reportmateutil --version
reportmateutil config
Replace the binary, or install the newer package. There is no self-update and nothing on disk to migrate.
