Pre-releaseAlpha 0.0.89 / Driver B190 — engineering prerelease
Current development is Alpha 0.0.89 / app188 / Driver B190. This download freshly builds both application and driver from the exact reviewed public source, with independent app and driver identities.
The source hardens DMA retirement, transaction identity, device-generation lifetimes, dispatch/callback ownership and native cancellation completion lifetimes. Normal capture STOP keeps the driver loaded. B190 development-signed testing passed five bounded NTSC DV captures on one Sony HVR-M15U setup, including same-session and fresh-app re-entry, about sixty seconds and a four-minute operator-stopped job. The longest saved DV was 238.038 seconds. Each capture retained two continuity observations after empty packets and one terminal partial frame; exact missing-frame counts and source quality remain unknown.
This exact public ad-hoc package has not been installed or physically qualified. Fresh public-source compilation, Swift/XCTest and release/disclosure checks passed; its ZIP, signatures, entitlements and provenance were independently reviewed. These checks do not extend hardware qualification. Full-tape completion was intentionally omitted for the current candidate; physical PAL/HDV capture, natural EOT, broader hardware and reset/disconnect behavior remain unqualified.
Ad-hoc signed, not notarized. Installation requires disabling SIP, which reduces macOS security. Use a backed-up dedicated test Mac and read INSTALL.md and UNINSTALL.md. No developer account, provisioning profile download or local re-signing is required. This is not normal SIP-on distribution or an Apple-verified publisher identity.
Live extension disable/unload, hot replacement and reboot-free removal remain unqualified. Finish capture, use normal tape STOP and verification, quit the app, then use the documented shutdown/restart maintenance procedure. Do not use global extension disable as a capture-session STOP or repeatedly retry a terminating driver. Removal/replacement begins with a normal shutdown, disconnecting FireWire while powered off, and a fresh boot with the adapter disconnected.
- Apple silicon: application arm64, driver arm64e. App deployment floor macOS26; source toolchain Xcode27. Bounded runtime evidence is on macOS27.0.1.
- Supported controller identity: PCI11c1:5901 with the tested Apple Thunderbolt-to-FireWire adapter chain. USB-to-FireWire cables are not a substitute. Other controller identities are unsupported by this build.

Download the ZIP, checksum sidecar, manifest.json and provenance.json from this release. Verify the ZIP checksum before expanding; follow the package's signature checks. Matching hashes establish byte consistency, not pristine audiovisual content or uninterrupted hardware continuity.
