IL2-SRS 1.0.4.8-beta.9
IL2-SRS 1.0.4.8-beta.9
This beta adds multiple Push-To-Talk inputs and improves compatibility with Wine on Linux.
Added
- Three independently configurable Common PTT input slots.
- Each PTT input can use its own joystick or keyboard button and optional modifier.
Changed
- Pressing any configured Common PTT input transmits through the currently selected radio.
- Existing PTT configurations are retained automatically as PTT 1.
Fixed
- Microphone capture and Audio Preview no longer close the client under Wine when unsupported per-channel audio APIs are encountered.
Compatibility
- Compatible with other
1.0.4.8clients and servers. - No server configuration changes are required.
Please report any problems or suggestions using the support buttons on the Help tab.
IL2-SRS 1.0.4.8-beta.7
IL2-SRS 1.0.4.8-beta.7 community update
This beta improves compatibility between IL2-SRS and IL2WinWing, particularly on systems where both applications were competing for the same IL-2 telemetry port.
Improvements
- Telemetry Diagnostics now checks IL2WinWing's telemetry input and SimApp Pro forwarding ports.
- A new Configure IL2WinWing action safely configures separate ports for SRS and IL2WinWing and updates every detected Great Battles and Korea
startup.cfg. - Changed files receive
.il2srs.bakbackups, with read-only attributes and unrelated settings preserved. - SRS warns when a running IL2WinWing installation needs compatibility repair.
Fixes
- SRS now owns telemetry port 4322 exclusively, preventing intermittent packet loss caused by unreliable shared-port delivery.
- Detects when IL2WinWing receives game telemetry correctly but forwards vibration data to the wrong SimApp Pro port.
- The repair refuses to modify an arbitrary copy when multiple inactive IL2WinWing installations are found.
Compatibility
- No SRS server changes are required.
- Updated clients and servers remain compatible with other
1.0.4.8builds. - Please report issues through the Help tab support buttons.
IL2-SRS 1.0.4.8-beta.6
IL2-SRS 1.0.4.8-beta.6 community update
This replacement Beta 6 build removes the experimental neutral-lobby music feature and retains the server configuration and spectator-state fixes introduced in Beta 6.
Important: If you installed the earlier Beta 6 build, download and reinstall this replacement. The updater cannot distinguish the two builds because they use the same version number.
Improvements
server.cfgis completed automatically with all persistent settings while preserving existing values.
Fixes
- Returning to spectator or the neutral lobby now clears stale coalition and vehicle state from the previous mission.
- Server-only Pilot Roster paths and RCon credentials are no longer sent to clients.
Removed
- Neutral-lobby music was removed after testing exposed unreliable buffering during continuous playback.
Compatibility
- Updated clients and servers remain compatible with other
1.0.4.8builds. - Please report issues through the Help tab support buttons.
IL2-SRS 1.0.4.8-beta.5
IL2-SRS 1.0.4.8-beta.5 community update
This beta focuses on safer IL-2 telemetry configuration and more useful connection diagnostics.
Improvements
- Telemetry Diagnostics now checks Windows Firewall access for IL-2 telemetry on UDP port 4322.
- SRS backs up
startup.cfgbefore its first telemetry repair. - Telemetry repairs preserve the file's encoding and read-only setting.
- Server Pilot Roster JSON integration is now opt-in and remains available when administrators configure their own data path.
Fixes
- SRS no longer repairs
startup.cfgwhile Great Battles or Korea is running. - Telemetry repair aborts safely if IL-2 changes the file during the operation.
- Atomic file replacement prevents partial or truncated
startup.cfgfiles. - Unconfigured Pilot Roster data sources can no longer delay the server's client synchronization reply.
Testing notes
- Updated clients and servers remain compatible with other
1.0.4.8builds. - If telemetry repair is required while IL-2 is running, close the game and restart SRS or run Telemetry Diagnostics again.
- Please report telemetry repair, firewall detection, or server synchronization issues through the Help tab support buttons.
IL2-SRS 1.0.4.8-beta.3
IL2-SRS 1.0.4.8-beta.3 community update
This beta introduces an experimental radio collision effect for simultaneous transmissions on the same channel.
Added
- Updated servers can detect overlapping transmissions on the same frequency and modulation.
- Updated receiving clients produce local flutter, brief dropouts, noise, and distortion instead of mixing both voices cleanly.
- Server owners can enable the feature with the new
RX Collision Effectssetting.
Changed
- Intercom is excluded from collision processing.
- The server window is taller, with
RX Collision Effectsdirectly belowRealistic TX Behaviourand no scrollbar required.
Testing notes
- The new server setting is disabled by default.
- Testing requires this beta on the server and on receiving clients.
- Older
1.0.4.8clients remain compatible, but they will hear normally mixed audio. - Please report whether the effect is too strong or weak, starts and stops correctly, and causes any false collisions during clean handovers.
IL2-SRS 1.0.4.8-beta.2
IL2-SRS 1.0.4.8-beta.2 community update
Added
- Pilot Roster support is now available to any updated SRS server that provides compatible roster data, rather than being limited to Combat Box.
- A new server-administrator guide explains how to provide Pilot Roster data.
Changed
- Pilot Roster availability is now reported by the server and detected automatically by the client.
- The unavailable message now explains that the connected server must provide Pilot Roster data.
Fixed
- Fixed the Pilot Roster not consistently remaining above IL-2 or disappearing with the main SRS window.
- Fixed the beta Auto Updater not following the beta channel when used to update a stable installation.
Notes
- Servers must update to this beta and configure a compatible Pilot Roster JSON source before their clients can use the roster.
- This remains compatible with the existing
1.0.4.8protocol.
IL2-SRS 1.0.4.8-beta.1
IL2-SRS 1.0.4.8-beta.1 community update
Added
- Added a single-install setup flow that clearly explains one SRS installation supports both IL-2 Great Battles and IL-2 Korea.
- Added detection and backup-first consolidation of older duplicate SRS installations while preserving profiles, key bindings, favourites, and radio presets.
Changed
- Moved user settings, profiles, key bindings, favourites, and presets to %AppData%\IL2-SRS so updates and application-folder changes no longer separate the client from its configuration.
- Expanded startup and Help-tab telemetry checks to verify and automatically repair every detected Great Battles and Korea installation.
- Improved handling of read-only startup.cfg files by temporarily removing the read-only attribute when repair is required and restoring it afterwards.
- Updated installer guidance to recommend one application copy in C:\Program Files\IL2-SimpleRadio-Standalone, outside the game folders.
Notes
- Existing settings are migrated conservatively. Files already present in %AppData%\IL2-SRS are not overwritten, and conflicting legacy files are retained in migration backups.
- This is a beta release intended to validate migration and installation behavior across varied existing setups before the stable 1.0.4.8 release.
IL2-SRS 1.0.4.7
IL2-SRS 1.0.4.7
Added
- Added preliminary IL-2 Korea support for client-side game detection, overlay focus, telemetry setup, and Help tab telemetry diagnostics.
- Added telemetry diagnostics for detecting third-party telemetry port conflicts, starting with IL2WinWing, across detected Great Battles and Korea installs.
- Added an Active Squad Ops summary at the top of the Combat Box Pilot Roster to highlight friendly squad groups operating on shared channels.
- Added a Help tab "What's New in this version" link that opens the GitHub release notes for the running build.
- Added logging-only incoming audio quality diagnostics to help identify causes of choppy received audio without changing audio behavior.
- Added a new
Restart SRSkeybinding on the Controls tab for quickly restarting the client when audio or device state gets stuck.
Changed
- New server configurations now enable the second radio by default.
- Improved startup telemetry repair warnings when IL-2 is already running and repaired settings require a game restart.
- Added Help tab guidance for radio overlays and exclusive fullscreen limitations.
- The server now treats player name changes as roster-relevant updates so connected clients refresh roster data more reliably.
Fixed
- Fixed stale connection-error state that could remain visible after a successful reconnect.
- Fixed the admin relaunch path so the original non-admin client exits before initializing audio/network state, reducing duplicate local SRS instances and port conflicts.
Notes
- IL-2 Korea support is preliminary. It has been verified with Korea telemetry once spawned, but broader multiplayer, server, intercom, and Steam-version behavior may still need follow-up fixes.
