Bigme Light Control v1.2.0
What's new
- Custom presets — the built-in Daytime / Reading / Bedtime presets are now editable: hold a preset in Quick presets to rename or delete it, and save your own presets from the current light values (they persist across restarts).
- Channel symbols — ❄️ cool and 🔥 warm now appear in the control dialog, notifications, status line, and gesture action names.
- Dialog steppers use your step size — the ± buttons follow the Step size setting instead of a fixed ±10.
- Smoother gestures — rapid swipe notifications are debounced into a single e-ink refresh.
- Sleep handling — saved light levels are cleared after resume, so a later off-then-suspend can't restore a stale value.
- Build tooling —
make embedregenerates the embedded helper fromhelper/bigme_light.sh(this release fixes drift where the embedded copy lacked theset_bothusage line);make releasebuilds the install zip.

Bigme Light Control v1.1.0
What's New in v1.1.0
🚀 Zero-Latency Direct Sysfs I/O
- On initialization and setup, permissions on the TI LM3630A sysfs nodes are configured (
0666), allowing KOReader to read and write directly through Lua. - Gesture latency drops from ~50ms to <1ms with zero process forks, eliminating UI stutter on rapid swipe gestures.
- Transparently falls back to the Magisk
suhelper if direct I/O is blocked by SELinux.
🔋 Power Management (Standby Battery Saver)
- Automatic suspend/resume lifecycle integration: turns off the LM3630A LEDs when the device enters sleep to prevent battery drain in standby.
- Automatically restores previous light levels when waking up.
- Can be toggled on/off via the menu (Turn off on sleep).
💡 E-Ink Friendly Touch Controls & Presets
- New interactive light dialog with responsive steppers (
Cold +/-10,Warm +/-10) and quick presets. - Instant presets:
- ☀️ Daytime (Cold 80, Warm 0)
- 📖 Reading (Cold 50, Warm 60)
- 🌙 Bedtime (Cold 0, Warm 50)
- 🌑 All off (0, 0)
- Registered new Dispatcher actions for gestures (
bigme_preset_day,bigme_preset_read,bigme_preset_night). - Separate modal for setting exact numeric values without forcing the software keyboard open.
🛠️ Code Health & Fixes
onBigmeEinkCenternow callsos.executedirectly, avoiding unread pipe file descriptors.- Removed redundant driver reads during UI interactions.
