Emulator Compatibility
Argosy supports built-in Libretro emulation plus many external emulators. Some have limitations.
| Emulator | Issue | Workaround |
|---|---|---|
| ScummVM | Requires .scummvm config file |
Configure games in ScummVM first |
| Vita3K | Games must be pre-installed | Install VPK in Vita3K before launching |
| Lemuroid | No intent launching | Open Lemuroid manually |
| Redream | Fails on Android 13+ | Use Flycast instead |
| melonDS | Version-dependent behavior | Use nightly builds |
| XenDroid (Xbox 360) | Launch handoff from Argosy has not been confirmed on real hardware yet | Try launching normally and report whether the game starts; AX360E is available as a fallback |
| Platform | Built-in Core | External Option | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Capcom Play System (CPS 1/2/3) | FBNeo | RetroArch (FBNeo, or FB Alpha 2012 CPS) | Syncs from RomM's cps1/cps2/cps3 platforms. Keep ROM sets zipped |

Argosy attempts to locate saves for all emulators, but some may not be supported if the emulator stores data in hidden or private directories inaccessible to other apps.
Android 11+: Scoped storage limits direct file access. Argosy uses content URIs where possible.
Android 13+: Some emulators have launch issues due to stricter intent handling.
Steam games require a launcher app (GameHub or GameNative) installed on your device. Argosy detects available launchers automatically.
If an emulator isn't supported or doesn't launch as expected, create an issue and we'll investigate.
