Speedrun mode adds split tracking and a live timer to the built-in emulator. It is new in 2.0 and still collecting feedback.
Turn on speedrun mode from the in-game menu while playing a built-in title. The timer panel appears alongside the game and scales with the available space.
Splits are driven entirely by hotkeys so you never have to leave the game:
- Split — record the current segment and advance to the next
- Undo split — step back one segment
- Skip split — advance without recording a time
- Toggle timer — pause and resume the clock
- Reset timer — clear the run and start over
Bind these under Settings > Controls > Hotkeys like any other hotkey. See Hotkeys for binding rules and the Player 1 limit.
- The timer runs on the render clock, so it stays accurate under fast-forward and pause.
- Speedrun mode is independent of RetroAchievements hardcore mode; both can be active at once.
- Split layouts and per-game customization are planned follow-ups.
