• The fixes to the schema and the PyPI changes to bitbake-setup have now been merged: https://git.openembedded.org/bitbake/commit/?id=c251833d2062ef92fc7e77ab6456af928ad1d31a
• I have started to actively use them for Wrynose
• New bitbake-setup JSON configuration files will be added to Oeros for Wrynose and the Yocto development branch

Pytest support for meta-ros

Added ptest support to enable running package tests on the target system (e.g. QEMU).

The implementation is based on the existing ptest infrastructure from meta-python, which itself follows the implementation in openembedded-core.

Note: it's rather uncommon that Python packages (whl, pypi, ...) do have the tests packaged. It looks, for me, that Yocto/OpenEmbedded is moving from pypi to SRC.

And some patching for openembedded specific stuff.
E.g. Using /bin/sh (busybox) i.s.o. /bin/bash

  Note: enable 'ptest' as DISTRO_FEATURE does include all tests of the full image. What's not what you want.
