Ride Forces Analyzer 0.5.0

Explore Ride Forces recordings and create G-force overlays. Processing stays local;
original recordings remain unchanged.

Included in 0.5.0

  • Windows x64, Linux x64 and separate macOS Apple Silicon/Intel downloads,
with native GUI/import/rendering/encoding checks for each target.
    Development remains on Windows.
  • Native user-data folders, platform-aware FFmpeg discovery and update assets;
export works from a read-only launch directory.
  • Interactive force charts, per-sample airtime context, optional airtime events,
shared immutable analysis snapshots and 4K exports. Original samples, metadata
    and independent GPS remain intact.
  • Updated user documentation, reproducible ride-detail screenshots and a
Midnight-themed GitHub Pages site with platform-specific download links.
  • Portable Windows EXE, standard ZIP and complete ZIP with FFmpeg; GitHub also
    supplies source downloads.

Compatibility and limits

  • Linux targets Ubuntu 24.04/glibc 2.39; macOS targets version 15 or newer.
These packages require a separately installed FFmpeg. macOS apps are ad-hoc
signed, without Developer ID/notarization, and may require explicit OS approval.
  • Integrations use the recording-analysis and service contracts.
  • Saved export presets and batch jobs require the current explicit analysis
recipe. Older or incomplete records are rejected without automatic migration
or destructive database cleanup; recreate unsupported presets/jobs.
  • Airtime event detection is opt-in and distinct from the stable display labels.
Neither constitutes scientific qualification of arbitrary recordings.
  • Windows packages are unsigned. Clean-Windows-VM qualification and the documented
    redistribution source/notice gaps remain open.

Installation

Native downloads require no Python installation:

Download Use
Ride-Forces-Analyzer-0.5.0-windows-x64.exe Portable Windows application
…-windows-x64-standard.zip Windows application/notices; select an existing FFmpeg for export
…-windows-x64-complete.zip Also includes FFmpeg, detected beside the extracted EXE
…-linux-x64.tar.gz Ubuntu 24.04 x64; extract and run ./Ride-Forces-Analyzer inside its directory
…-macos-arm64.zip macOS 15+ Apple Silicon; extract and move the app to Applications
…-macos-x64.zip macOS 15+ Intel; extract and move the app to Applications
  • Windows: extract ZIPs and start their EXE. No installer or automatic installation.
  • Linux: keep _internal beside the executable. Install the desktop libraries in
    the release guide.
  • Linux/macOS: install compatible FFmpeg separately, for example with
sudo apt install ffmpeg or brew install ffmpeg; select it with Browse if needed.
  • macOS: after checking the hash, use Open Anyway in Privacy & Security if
required for the trusted download. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally.
  • Verify downloads with WINDOWS-SHA256SUMS.txt, LINUX-X64-SHA256SUMS.txt,
    MACOS-ARM64-SHA256SUMS.txt or MACOS-X64-SHA256SUMS.txt.
  • Packages include collected dependency notices. Shipped REDISTRIBUTION.json
    records outstanding redistribution source/notice gaps.
  • Source alternative: GitHub's Source code (zip) / Source code (tar.gz).
Extract, open PowerShell there, run setup.ps1, then start.ps1.
Export additionally needs setup.ps1 -VideoExport or compatible installed FFmpeg.
Setup downloads dependencies; installed processing works offline.

README:
features, screenshots/setup.
Roadmap:
limits/planned scope. GPS is rough spatial context, not force/speed measurement;
video alignment remains manual.

Licenses and support

  • Code: GPL-3.0-or-later. Five supplied recordings, including GPS/metadata, and
explicitly listed documentation images: CC BY-SA 4.0 with attribution notices.
These grants do not automatically cover your recordings/exports.
    See licenses/third-party boundaries.
  • Ordinary bugs/features: GitHub Issues. Security reports:
    private channels in SECURITY.md.

Ride Forces Analyzer 0.4.0

Explore Ride Forces recordings and create G-force overlays. Processing stays local;
original recordings remain unchanged.

Included in 0.4.0

  • Shared immutable analysis snapshots for the explorer, previews, exports and
batches, with source metadata, force values and per-sample airtime context.
  • Partial recalculation reuses unchanged stages when smoothing or analysis
settings change. Orientation remains independent of force smoothing.
  • Revision-aware analysis subscriptions deliver initial state, updates and
failures without publishing stale worker results to the UI.
  • Optional, separately configured airtime event detection. Events and display
context remain provisional interpretations, not validated rider sensations.
  • One supported numerical implementation, with explicit availability, quality
and provenance. Original samples, metadata and independent GPS remain intact.
  • Updated user documentation, reproducible ride-detail screenshots and a
Midnight-themed GitHub Pages site with Windows download links.
  • Portable Windows EXE, standard ZIP and complete ZIP with FFmpeg; GitHub also
supplies source downloads. Dependency maintenance includes the nested
markdown-it security override used by documentation tooling.

Compatibility and limits

  • The former analysis APIs have been removed without compatibility facades.
Integrations must use the current recording-analysis and service contracts.

Ride Forces Analyzer 0.3.1

Explore Ride Forces recordings and create G-force overlays for your coaster
videos. Processing stays local and preserves original recordings.

Included in version 0.3.1

  • Corrected Windows package verification for language and appearance settings.

  • Portable Windows EXE, standard ZIP and complete ZIP with FFmpeg, plus source downloads.

  • A colored airtime context strip that follows chart zoom, with stable vertical-force
labels for Floater, Airtime, Strong Airtime and Ejector. These are provisional
    interpretations, not measured rider sensations.

  • Consistent export colors: yellow lateral forces, green acceleration and red braking.
Flow Ribbon, Corner Instruments and Telemetry Capsule also show vertical-force context.

  • Click the chart to select a sample; inspect extrema for the visible chart range.
The From/To interval is highlighted, and holding its arrows accelerates sample stepping.

  • A more compact workspace with organized technical details and visible-range extrema.

  • Remembered folders, language and appearance, with Windows defaults for new users.

  • FFmpeg Browse opens the configured encoder directory; invalid preference inputs
are rejected before changing saved settings.

  • About information and optional GitHub update notifications.

  • Export filenames based on the recording, estimated output size and remaining time.

Installation

For Windows x64, Ride-Forces-Analyzer-0.3.1-windows-x64.exe starts without
installing Python. The …-standard.zip contains the application and notices;
select an existing FFmpeg for video export. The …-complete.zip also includes
FFmpeg, detected automatically after extraction. Start the EXE in the extracted
folder. There is no installer or automatic installation. Required dependency
notices accompany the packages; corresponding-sources.zip supplies the available
third-party sources. This collection is incomplete: matching Qt PDF material and
complete source/build material for the static FFmpeg dependencies were not located
in the provider downloads. The included REDISTRIBUTION.json records these gaps.
Use WINDOWS-SHA256SUMS.txt to verify the download files.

Download source.zip and SHA256SUMS.txt from this release. Extract the ZIP,
open PowerShell in its directory and run setup.ps1, then start.ps1.
Video export additionally needs setup.ps1 -VideoExport or a compatible existing
FFmpeg executable. Setup downloads dependencies; installed processing works offline.
Source setup is an alternative to the Windows downloads.

See the README for features, screenshots and setup help.
Known limits and planned features are in the roadmap.
GPS supplies rough spatial context rather than force or speed measurement.
Video exports need manual alignment with footage.

Licenses and support

Program code: GPL-3.0-or-later. The five supplied recordings, including GPS and

Ride Forces Analyzer 0.1.0 — Windows source preview

Explore recordings from the Ride Forces mobile app and create G-force overlays
for your coaster videos. Processing stays on your computer and preserves original
recordings.

  • Interactive vertical, lateral and longitudinal force charts, smoothing,
    sample inspection and selected-range extrema.
  • Approximate GPS overview and available ride, device and weather metadata.
  • Five overlay layouts with landscape/portrait previews, transparent ProRes 4444
or opaque H.264 export, plus optional NVIDIA acceleration when supported.
  • Saved export presets and batch definitions in a local SQLite database.
  • English/German interface and light/dark appearance.

Install: download and extract the source archive, open PowerShell in its
folder, then run setup.ps1 and start.ps1. Video export additionally needs
setup.ps1 -VideoExport or an existing compatible ffmpeg.exe.
Initial setup downloads dependencies; installed processing works offline.
Windows x64 is the supported target; no standalone installer is supplied.
See the README for instructions and screenshots.

Preview limitations: calibrated forces require usable source calibration
directions. Source-app agreement has recording-specific limits; GPS provides rough
context rather than force or speed measurement. Persistent ride-library management,
interactive playback and video synchronization are not implemented. Exports need
manual alignment with footage. See the roadmap.

Program code: GPL-3.0-or-later. The five included recordings with GPS/metadata and
the listed documentation images: CC BY-SA 4.0, with their attribution notices.
These licenses do not automatically apply to your recordings or exports.
Report bugs through the issue templates and security problems privately via
SECURITY.md.

Download
