Overview

  • Prefer opening workspace-backed Markdown decks in the MarkdStage canvas, enabling automatic
    refresh after source changes while retaining the existing unsaved-snapshot flow when requested.
  • Keep the shared product version aligned at 4.2.4 across the Canvas Extension, Skill, npm CLI,
    and Desktop.

Compatibility and migration

This patch release is backward compatible with existing MarkdStage Markdown decks and the v4
installation model. Update version-pinned installation links to v4.2.4.

Area Migration
Version-pinned installation Update the pinned tag to v4.2.4.
Canvas deck opens No action is required; workspace-backed decks now refresh automatically.

Requirements

  • npm CLI: Node.js 24 or later and Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Chromium
  • Desktop: Windows 10 or Windows 11, x64 or ARM64, and Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime
  • Packaged CLI: WebView2 for script execution; installed Chromium for presentation, inspection, capture, and export. Remote-debugging policy can disable inspection, capture, and export.

Windows portable packages contain the presenter and command-line executables and
require no Node runtime. For GitHub Release sideloading, import MarkdStage.cer
into the trusted people certificate store, then install the MSIX matching the device
architecture. The Microsoft Store upload package is created locally and submitted
separately through Partner Center.
PDF/PowerPoint export remains CLI-only; the graphical app is a presenter.
Store availability and the Store URL will be announced separately after Partner Center
submission. Portable and sideloading packages remain available from this release.
Third-party license information is included in each distribution.
