Reckonsolve v0.8.0
Reckonsolve v0.8.0
This release adds One-Shot Predictions: record a final probability or five-quantile estimate before checking an answer that already exists. You can enter the forecast and answer together, or save the forecast and add the answer later. This works for both Binary and Numeric questions.
One-Shots receive a single Brier score or five-quantile WIS after the answer is saved. They have no Forecast Deadline or forecast updates. Optional times you report from a phone note are kept separate from the times Reckonsolve records. Correct transcription fixes copied values while preserving the original entry and every correction.
Predictions, search, Saved Views, the CLI, and Analytics now include One-Shots. Analytics gives them separate Binary and Numeric summaries. The regular forecasting mode is now called Adaptive; its forecasting and scoring rules are unchanged. CLI filters accept --mode adaptive, and the existing --mode deadline spelling still works.
CSV export format 5 includes One-Shot originals, effective values, reported times, and correction history. A complete SQLite backup remains the recovery format; CSV export is for analysis and cannot restore an archive.
Supported v0.7 archives upgrade to schema 20 with their history intact. Back up your archive with your current compatible version before upgrading. Archives containing pre-v0.7 Binary or interval-v1 Numeric predictions remain unsupported.
This is a Windows source release. It does not include an installer or public binary.
Reckonsolve v0.7.0
Reckonsolve v0.7.0 — source release notes
Reckonsolve v0.7 changes how forecasts are represented and scored. New Binary forecasts keep an exact, permanent Deadline and are scored over the time each probability stood, using Trajectory Brier. New Numeric forecasts use five exact quantiles (5th, 25th, median, 75th, 95th) and Weighted Interval Score. Both types retain immutable revisions, Reviews, Journals, and audited effective-resolution corrections. Analytics keeps Binary and Numeric feedback separate; the Analytics guide explains how to read it.
The desktop now has a shared, initially unset Deadline picker for both forecast types. Local-calendar shortcuts target 11:59 PM; Custom entry handles daylight-saving gaps and repeated hours explicitly. The CLI continues to accept offset-bearing timestamps.
The SQLite schema is version 18. A complete SQLite backup remains the recovery format. Relational CSV export is now format 4 and includes model identities, exact Deadlines, all five quantiles, recorded and effective terminal times, and correction history with a bundled data dictionary. CSV is for analysis, not restoration. The private Windows build remains a validation artifact, not a public binary release.
Compatibility break: This version refuses any database or backup containing pre-v0.7 Binary or interval-v1 Numeric predictions, including mixed archives. Missing, unknown, or mismatched model identities are refused too. It does not convert, delete, or partially load those records. Keep an unsupported original or backup for an earlier compatible Reckonsolve version. Supported v0.7-only schema-16/17 Binary archives upgrade to schema 18; supported schema-18 archives reopen unchanged. Before opening an existing supported archive with the new version, make a complete SQLite backup with your current compatible version.
This is a source release. It does not include an installer, signed executable, automatic updater, importer, new forecast type, public binaries, or app logo.

Compatibility and data safety
- Existing v0.5 databases remain fully compatible.
- The SQLite schema remains at version 15.
- No data migration is required.
- Forecast history, scoring, lifecycle behavior, search, Saved Views, tags, backup, CSV export, and CLI behavior remain unchanged.
- Presentation preferences are stored in an identity-specific
presentation.inifile and do not enter forecast history, SQLite backups, CSV exports, search, analytics, or CLI output. - Stable and development databases remain isolated.
Deliberately not included
This release does not add another forecast model, a Review Queue, a custom theme framework, logo artwork, a Windows installer, signing, automatic updates, or public binary distribution.
Reckonsolve remains an offline, local-first, single-user source release.
Reckonsolve v0.5.0
Reckonsolve v0.5.0
Reckonsolve v0.5.0 makes a growing forecasting journal easier to search, organize, and recover while preserving its local-first, historically honest design.
Highlights
- Explainable full-text search across Questions, tags, metadata, forecast rationales, Reviews, Journal entries, and terminal text.
- Current/effective text by default, with optional and clearly labeled superseded-history search.
- All-word and Any-word matching, quoted phrases, incremental prefixes, punctuation-safe input, and explicit spelling suggestions.
- One grouped result per Prediction with source labels, snippets, and additional-match counts.
- Rich archive filters covering lifecycle, forecast type, multiple tags, attention status, date ranges, and deterministic sorting.
- Dynamic Saved Views that preserve complete search and filter configurations without storing fixed Prediction membership.
- Transactional tag-library management supporting rename, merge, and deletion with Saved View awareness.
- Matching read-only CLI commands:
rsc search, rsc saved-views, andrsc saved-view. - Explicit Repair Search Index action in Settings.
Reliability and portability
- Existing v0.4 schema-version-13 databases migrate safely through the new search and Saved View schemas.
- Search remains a disposable SQLite FTS5 projection derived entirely from canonical Prediction history.
- Startup verifies the search projection and repairs inconsistencies before they can appear as false empty results.
- SQLite backups preserve Saved Views and search capability.
- CSV export remains format version 3 and now documents every intentional v0.5 exclusion.
- Expanded migration, rollback, concurrent-access, backup, recovery, restart, and private frozen-build coverage.
- A privacy-safe relevance suite and a 2,000-Prediction synthetic performance corpus guard search quality.
Upgrade notes
Creating a verified SQLite backup before first opening an existing v0.4 database is recommended. Reckonsolve will then migrate the database automatically.
This remains a local-first, offline-capable, single-user source release. It does not include semantic search, Collections, another forecast model, logo artwork, an installer, signing, automatic updates, public binaries, hidden query telemetry, or behavioral ranking.
Reckonsolve v0.4.0
Reckonsolve v0.4 closes the post-resolution learning loop.
Highlights:
- Append-only correction history for Binary and Numeric Resolutions and Invalid reasons
- Later and versioned Postmortems
- Resolved-prediction scorecards
- Initial-versus-final forecast analytics
- Needs Postmortem workflow with optional Skip completion
- Historically complete terminal records in CLI
show - Format-version-three relational CSV export
- Migration, backup, cross-interface, and private Windows build hardening
Reckonsolve remains a local-first, offline-capable, single-user source release.
Reckonsolve v0.3.0
Reckonsolve v0.3.0 adds a source-distributed command-line companion to the desktop forecasting journal.
Added
- Paired
reckonsolve-cliandreckonsolve-cli-devcommands that share the same stable or development database as their matching desktop application. - Type-aware
listandshowcommands with filtering, attention indicators, terminal facts, and complete textual history. - Interactive Binary and Numeric creation and revision.

Shared local data
The desktop and CLI interfaces operate on one canonical SQLite database through the same application rules. Changes made through either interface appear through the other on its next load or refresh. This is direct shared local data, not cloud synchronization or replication.
Release notes
- Existing v0.2 databases remain compatible and require no schema migration.
- Reckonsolve remains local-first, offline-capable, and single-user.
- This is a source release run through the
uv-managed project environment. - A separately packaged CLI executable, installer, signing, public binaries, live inter-process refresh, and final application artwork remain deferred.

Release notes
- Reckonsolve remains a local-first, offline-capable, single-user Windows application.
- This is a source release. It does not provide a supported installer, signed public executable, update channel, or final application artwork.
- Existing v0.1-shaped databases migrate automatically through the complete v0.2 schema. Creating a verified backup before upgrading remains recommended.
