Awesome Codex Theme v0.3.2

Release scope

This public beta includes the Full Skin compatibility and diagnostic work from
the v0.3.1 candidate, fifteen new verified themes, and a Gallery metadata fix.

Delivered

Explicit Apply & Keep Full Skin now performs a local probe for the exact
detected Stable or Beta target. It is no longer rejected solely because its
version differs from the pinned evidence build.
Automatic replay stays conservative: it reuses only the same target/version
that has already completed a successful local loopback probe.
Recoverable controller failures show a safe retry state; terminal launch or
CDP failures return a visible sanitized diagnostic promptly.
Added fifteen themes: five disclosed non-commercial A Record of a Mortal's
Journey to Immortality fan-art scenes, five original xianxia environments,
and five original American workspace moods. The Registry now contains 68
themes and 136 light/dark modes.
The public Gallery now derives original and Fan Art totals from the Registry,
and its desktop version label is stamped from the Tauri configuration during
the static build. This prevents stale release-page metadata after future
theme additions or version bumps.

Verification

npm run check passed: 68 source images/themes, 136 modes, 136 Full Skin
records, 136 Native fallbacks, 136 real Beta captures, 20 Node tests, 24 Rust
tests, and a static Gallery build with 748 downloadable artifacts.
npm run installer:validate passed for the Windows no-admin helper.
GitHub Pages built and deployed successfully. An isolated browser confirmed
the live Gallery shows 68 themes, each of the three new collections filters
to its five expected themes, and the 390 px viewport has no horizontal
overflow.

Compatibility and trust

Full Skin connects only to a loopback debugging port owned by the selected
package and an app:// target. It does not modify application files,
WindowsApps, user data, or conversations.
The original remote POST/CDP access-denied report was not directly reproduced
because its exact target/version and complete visible diagnostic were not
available. If it persists, attach the complete visible diagnostic, Theme
Manager version, Windows version/CPU, selected channel/version, and whether
the target was already open. Do not attach chats, tokens, or private data.
Windows Authenticode and Apple Developer ID/notarization are not included in
this beta. Tauri updater signatures protect updater artifacts; macOS bundles
carry an ad-hoc integrity signature only.

Awesome Codex Theme v0.3.2（中文）

验证

npm run check 通过：68 个源图/主题、136 个模式、136 个 Full Skin 记录、136 个
Native 回退、136 张真实 Beta 截图、20 个 Node 测试、24 个 Rust 测试，以及包含
748 个可下载产物的静态 Gallery 构建。
Windows 免管理员便携助手的 npm run installer:validate 通过。
GitHub Pages 已构建并部署成功。隔离浏览器确认线上 Gallery 显示 68 套主题，三组新
系列分别筛出预期的五套主题，390 px 视口没有横向溢出。

兼容性与信任边界

Full Skin 只连接由所选安装包拥有的 loopback 调试端口和 app:// 目标；不会修改
应用文件、WindowsApps、用户数据或对话内容。
原始远端 POST/CDP access-denied 报告没有被直接复现，因为当时缺少准确目标/版本和
完整可见诊断。如果仍然发生，请提供完整可见诊断、Theme Manager 版本、Windows

What is new

Theme Manager now uses a compact two-column layout. Style tabs, collection filters, a vertically scrolling theme library, the real Beta preview, and the apply controls stay visible in one workspace.
Full Skin artwork remains on the document background when Codex moves between routes. The main route surface is transparent instead of painting a wide gradient over the image.
The Codex project sidebar now uses a light or dark tinted material derived from the selected theme's own palette. It no longer falls back to the same plain white panel for every light theme.
All 53 themes and both modes were recaptured, for 106 real screenshots in total. Catalog revision 2026072101 prevents an installed manager from keeping the previous color-only screenshots.
The capture harness now recognizes both split and combined model labels. It selected and read back the strongest option actually exposed by this test bench, 5.6 Sol Max, then restored the user's previous model choice.

Windows verification

The release candidate was tested against the exact Store package OpenAI.CodexBeta_26.715.3651.0_x64__2p2nqsd0c76g0.

Qinglan Odyssey remained active through Home → Pull requests → Home.
The 2560×1440 source image remained decoded as a local Blob and attached to the document background.
The main surface computed to transparent on the tested route.
The sidebar used the theme's #DCE9DF alternate surface instead of generic white.
The persistent controller remained enabled after the test. No ChatGPT files, app.asar, private data, shortcuts, or conversations were modified.

The 106 public captures use a privacy-safe home fixture with no selected project and a hidden sidebar. A separate route test covered the visible project sidebar without publishing its private contents.

Apply a theme

Install Theme Manager. On macOS, move the app to Applications before opening it.
Pick a style, collection, theme, and light or dark mode. Check the real Beta screenshot.
Select the intended ChatGPT target and choose Apply & Keep Full Skin.
Confirm the one-time persistence notice. The saved selection is reapplied only to the exact supported app and version.
Use Restore Native to remove the skin and disable the saved selection.

If Apply fails, open a GitHub issue with the Theme Manager version, operating system and CPU, selected ChatGPT channel and version, and the full diagnostic message. Do not edit ChatGPT files or disable system security protections.

Theme updates and app updates

Theme updates come from the verified online catalog. New themes and corrected screenshots do not require reinstalling Theme Manager.
App updates are separate. Runtime, interface, or installer changes use the signed Tauri update channel and require the user's confirmation.

This Beta includes a Tauri updater signature and a macOS ad-hoc bundle signature. It does not yet include Windows Authenticode, Apple Developer ID signing, or Apple notarization, so Windows SmartScreen or macOS Gatekeeper may still show an unknown-publisher warning.

The macOS Apple Silicon and Intel packages are built and structurally checked on GitHub-hosted macOS runners. A physical-Mac Full Skin apply, restore, persistence, Gatekeeper, and notarization test is still pending and is not claimed here.

Windows 实机验证

本次候选版本使用准确的 Store 包 OpenAI.CodexBeta_26.715.3651.0_x64__2p2nqsd0c76g0 进行测试。

青岚问道从首页进入 Pull requests，再返回首页后仍然生效。
2560×1440 原图一直以本地 Blob 形式解码，并绑定到文档背景。
被测试页面的主内容层计算结果为透明。
左侧栏使用主题自己的 #DCE9DF 辅助表面色，而不是通用白色。
测试结束后，持久化控制器仍保持启用。整个过程没有修改 ChatGPT 文件、app.asar、私有数据、快捷方式或聊天内容。

公开的 106 张截图使用无项目、隐藏侧栏的隐私安全首页。另有单独的路由测试验证可见侧栏，但不会把其中的私人内容发布到仓库。

Awesome Codex Theme v0.3.0

v0.3.0 ships the repaired Apply & Keep Full Skin flow. It is the first
versioned release after the 0.3.0-alpha.* series.

English

What is fixed

Apply & Keep Full Skin now saves the selected skin before it asks the
persistent controller to launch or safely restart the exact Codex target.
A normally running app no longer causes a premature generic “Could not apply
the Full Skin” result.
Theme Manager waits for an active runtime receipt before displaying
success, and keeps the useful backend diagnostic in the error message.
The macOS confirmation uses an in-app, keyboard-accessible consent panel
instead of a browser dialog that can fail to appear in WKWebView.
macOS discovery now supports both current ChatGPT names and legacy
Codex.app / Codex Beta.app names, validates the exact bundle and
executable, and has a controlled executable fallback when LaunchServices
does not start the requested app.
Controller state handling now preserves terminal retry errors instead of
replacing them with a misleading timeout.

Verification completed before release

Full repository validation passed: 53 themes, 106 light/dark modes,
code-free package checks, capture records, 20 Node tests, 20 Rust tests, and
the Pages build.
The Windows NSIS package was built locally and reports product version
0.3.0.
The repaired persistent flow was tested against the exact ChatGPT Beta Store
package OpenAI.CodexBeta_26.715.3651.0_x64__2p2nqsd0c76g0: a selected Full
Skin remained active after Home → Pull requests → Home, and the test then
removed the persistence entry and runtime cleanly.

version, Mac CPU, target app/channel/version, and the full visible diagnostic.

Beta / 测试版。 This release fixes the Full Skin launch path and is the
first release with unambiguous Windows, Apple Silicon, and Intel download
names. / 此版本修复完整皮肤的启动路径，并首次清楚区分 Windows、Apple
Silicon 和 Intel 下载文件。

What changed

Fixed a Windows Full Skin false-success path. Store-package activation could
discard the loopback debugging flags, leaving Theme Manager unable to inject
the selected skin into the new Codex session. Theme Manager now launches
only the exact executable discovered from the selected Store package, checks
that it belongs to that package, and forwards only these local flags:

Made the early Full Skin runtime wait until document.body exists and made
cleanup tolerate a renderer navigation that has already discarded an old
early-script registration.
Added macOS traffic-light window controls on the left; the Theme Manager no
longer presents Windows-style controls in the upper-right on macOS.
Made the Copy Native action shorter so it does not overlap the theme preview
in compact windows.
Release assets now explicitly identify Windows x64, macOS Apple
Silicon, and macOS Intel.

Verified before release

On Windows, an isolated ChatGPT Beta 26.715.3651.0 Full Skin test applied
qinglan-odyssey in dark mode, read back the theme ID, root marker, style, and
caption, then restored the native state successfully. The test used the
release-build Theme Manager and did not modify Codex application files,
app.asar, conversations, or private data.

This does not claim that a physical Mac Full Skin install/apply/restore
test has already passed. The Apple Silicon and Intel DMGs are built and
structure-checked in CI; physical-Mac verification remains a separate Beta
test step.

Install and verify Full Skin

Install the Theme Manager. On macOS, drag it to Applications before
opening it; do not run the app from the mounted DMG.
Open Theme Manager, choose a theme, light/dark mode, and the intended Codex
target.
Quit that Codex target completely first. Theme Manager intentionally
does not silently terminate an ordinary user session.
Select Apply Full Skin. It starts one controlled, loopback-only session
and applies the verified background, materials, colors, and theme copy.
Confirm the background and controls render normally, then choose
Restore native. Quit and reopen Codex normally to confirm no style is
left behind.

If it fails, include the Theme Manager version, operating system and CPU,
selected Codex channel/version, and the exact diagnostic message in a GitHub
issue. Do not edit Codex files or disable system security protections.

Updates and trust boundary

Theme updates: use Theme Manager's catalog refresh. New verified themes
do not require reinstalling the desktop app.
App updates: use the in-app updater after it offers a signed update and
asks for confirmation.
This Beta has a Tauri updater signature and macOS ad-hoc bundle signature.
It does not yet have Windows Authenticode, Apple Developer ID signing, or
Apple notarization. Windows SmartScreen or macOS Gatekeeper may therefore
show an unknown-publisher warning. Review the repository and asset first;

What's fixed

The previous Mac beta could fail at "Apply Full Skin" when LaunchServices reused an existing ChatGPT process and dropped the debugging arguments. Version 0.3.0-alpha.2 now starts the exact validated .app bundle as a new instance, checks the LaunchServices result, and accepts a verified CDP listener owned by ChatGPT or one of its bounded child processes.

Error messages in the English interface now include the underlying diagnostic reason instead of stopping at "Cannot apply Full Skin."

Also included

12 World City Atlas themes for New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto, Vancouver, London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Tokyo, Singapore, and Sydney.
All 106 light and dark previews were recaptured in ChatGPT Beta 26.715.3651.0 with 5.6 Sol Ultra.
Theme catalog updates now arrive separately from application updates. New themes do not require an app reinstall or restart.
The Tibo tribute now uses the shorter God of Reset and 重置之神 lockup.

Install and test

Quit the selected ChatGPT Stable or Beta app completely before applying a Full Skin.

Mac users should download the DMG that matches their processor, drag Awesome Codex Theme into Applications, then launch it from Applications. Windows users should download the x64 setup file.

Both Mac targets passed CI compilation, Rust tests, bundle identity checks, architecture checks, DMG creation, and ad-hoc signature verification. This does not replace a physical Mac apply and restore test, so please report the exact diagnostic reason if the issue remains.

Trust boundary

The application updater verifies these release files with the project's Tauri updater signature. The Mac bundles also carry an ad-hoc signature for package integrity. This beta does not include Windows Authenticode, Apple Developer ID signing, or Apple notarization, so Windows or macOS may still show an unknown-publisher warning.

The Theme Manager does not modify ChatGPT application files, app.asar, private data, or conversations.

上一版 Mac Beta 在点击“应用完整皮肤”时，可能因为系统复用了已有的 ChatGPT 进程，导致调试参数没有传入。0.3.0-alpha.2 会按经过验证的 .app 准确路径启动新实例，并核对 LaunchServices 结果及监听进程身份。英文界面现在也会保留具体错误原因。

使用前请完全退出所选的 ChatGPT Stable 或 Beta。Mac 用户应下载与处理器匹配的 DMG，把 Awesome Codex Theme 拖入 Applications 后再启动。两个 Mac 架构已经通过 CI 编译、Rust 测试、Bundle ID、架构、DMG 与 ad-hoc 签名检查，但仍需要在真实 Mac 上重新完成一次应用和恢复测试。

本版本还加入了 12 套世界城市主题，并用 ChatGPT Beta 26.715.3651.0 和 5.6 Sol Ultra 重拍了全部 106 张明暗模式截图。

Updater-signed Tauri Theme Manager beta with ACT Full Skin v1. The app applies verified backgrounds, materials, colors, and theme copy without modifying ChatGPT application files.
