Changes from v0.4.0

  • Added mrn_converter.exe
    • This tool can list and export animations and skeletons from Forgelight Morpheme Runtime Networks to GLTF2 files. To list the animations contained within an MRN file, provide the desired MRN name to the program on the command line. To export animations, include a skeleton with the --skeleton argument, one or more regex terms to match animation names to the --animations argument, and an output file name to the --output-file argument.
    • Infantry animations from ThirdPersonX64.mrn (and some from ThirdPersonRobotX64.mrn) require bone remapping - the data/ThirdPersonX64_remap.json file is provided for this purpose. Pass that file's location to --remap if exporting infantry animations from those files. There is data in the MRNs which should replace this file in the future, but for now this is the procedure that needs to be followed.
  • adr_converter.exe now parses and adds empty nodes for sockets specified in ActorSockets.xml to the exported model.
    • These sockets specify locations where other models may be slotted in to the model. For example, most vehicle chassis have sockets indicating where their weapons attach, where the lockon targeting indicator should be drawn, and where utilities, defensive modules, and other items attach. Construction objects use sockets for module slot locations and the deploy limit indicators.

This release provides prebuilt binaries for Windows for adr_converter.exe, dme_converter.exe, chunk_converter.exe, mrn_converter.exe, zone_converter.exe, export.exe, and decompress.exe, command line tools that allow you to extract assets from Planetside 2 game files. By default these use PTS files located at C:\Users\Public\Daybreak Game Company\Installed Games\PlanetSide 2 Test\Resources\Assets. This path can be customized with command line arguments.

This is a very much "it works on my machine" sort of release. If you experience weirdness it could be due to missing libraries or PS2 being located in a weird place. There are basic --help outputs for all of these programs if you need descriptions of the command line arguments they take.
