Warpgate v0.5.2 Windows Binaries
Changes from v0.5.1
- Zone Converter
- Fix issue where X and Z coordinates would not match the in-game coordinates provided by /loc
- General GLTF exporting
- Add additional semantics to exported diffuse textures
This release provides prebuilt binaries for Windows for adr_converter.exe, dme_converter.exe, chunk_converter.exe, mrn_converter.exe, zone_converter.exe, export.exe, and decompress.exe, command line and GUI tools that allow you to extract assets from Planetside 2 game files. By default these use PTS files located at C:\Users\Public\Daybreak Game Company\Installed Games\PlanetSide 2 Test\Resources\Assets. This path can be customized with command line arguments.
This is a very much "it works on my machine" sort of release. If you experience weirdness it could be due to missing libraries or PS2 being located in a weird place. There are basic --help outputs for all of these programs if you need descriptions of the command line arguments they take.
Warpgate v0.5.1 Windows Binaries
Changes from v0.4.1
- Zone Converter:
- Fixed outstanding bug related to incorrect rotations of many exported objects and lights. All objects should now export with correct rotations
- Fixed
--aabbargument's ordering and value of coordinates. Previously the argument required game coordinates to be manipulated in an unexpected way to export areas. Now in game coordinates (like from /loc) will work directly, no modifications needed. Note that due to coordinate system differences between Forgelight and Blender, in-game positive Z coordinates will be imported by Blender as negative Y coordinates.
- Chunk Converter:
- Reoriented chunks, related to above zone converter fixes
- Chunk materials no longer have a specular component
This release provides prebuilt binaries for Windows for adr_converter.exe, dme_converter.exe, chunk_converter.exe, mrn_converter.exe, zone_converter.exe, warpgate.exe (alpha), export.exe, and decompress.exe, command line and GUI tools that allow you to extract assets from Planetside 2 game files. By default these use PTS files located at C:\Users\Public\Daybreak Game Company\Installed Games\PlanetSide 2 Test\Resources\Assets. This path can be customized with command line arguments.

Warpgate v0.5.0pre2 Windows Binaries
This pre-release features a preview of the Warpgate GUI. The GUI allows you to generate, import, and view namelists and preview and export models. This is a very early pre-release and there are still many bugs left to fix.
Bugfixes/Additions in v0.5.0pre2
- Added autogenerated shaders that should at least make something show up in the viewport when previewing an item
- Fix crash caused by models with separate material files trying to load the model as a material
Known bugs
- Models will become corrupted in the preview panel after they are exported, or if another model is removed
Planned features
- Adding the remaining shaders to view all model types
- Skeleton loading and previewing
- Animation loading and previewing
- Attaching animations to skeletons
- Attaching skeletons to models
Viewport controls
- Rotate: Middle mouse click and drag
- Pan: Shift + Middle mouse drag
- Zoom: Scroll wheel
Loading and Exporting a model
- Load a namelist (File -> Import Namelist... -> Select a text file containing PS2 asset names, one per line)
- If you do not have a namelist, generate one. (File -> Generate Namelist... -> Select save location) This will take a bit of time depending on your computer.
- Find a model to preview in the namelist panel and double click it. (
Armor_Common_Male_HeavyAssault_Battleship.adris one of the first models that will preview correctly currently) - In the Models panel, right click the model and select Export. (Even models that don't preview can be exported)
- Choose a location to save the exported glTF file and click Export on the file dialog.
- You should now be able to load the exported model in a glTF viewer of your choice (Blender is what I recommend)

Warpgate v0.4.1 Windows Binaries
Changes from v0.4.0
- Added
mrn_converter.exe- This tool can list and export animations and skeletons from Forgelight Morpheme Runtime Networks to GLTF2 files. To list the animations contained within an MRN file, provide the desired MRN name to the program on the command line. To export animations, include a skeleton with the
--skeletonargument, one or more regex terms to match animation names to the--animationsargument, and an output file name to the--output-fileargument. - Infantry animations from
ThirdPersonX64.mrn(and some fromThirdPersonRobotX64.mrn) require bone remapping - thedata/ThirdPersonX64_remap.jsonfile is provided for this purpose. Pass that file's location to--remapif exporting infantry animations from those files. There is data in the MRNs which should replace this file in the future, but for now this is the procedure that needs to be followed.

adr_converter.exenow parses and adds empty nodes for sockets specified inActorSockets.xmlto the exported model.- These sockets specify locations where other models may be slotted in to the model. For example, most vehicle chassis have sockets indicating where their weapons attach, where the lockon targeting indicator should be drawn, and where utilities, defensive modules, and other items attach. Construction objects use sockets for module slot locations and the deploy limit indicators.
