Warpgate v0.5.0pre2 Windows Binaries
Pre-release
Pre-release
This pre-release features a preview of the Warpgate GUI. The GUI allows you to generate, import, and view namelists and preview and export models. This is a very early pre-release and there are still many bugs left to fix.
Bugfixes/Additions in v0.5.0pre2
- Added autogenerated shaders that should at least make something show up in the viewport when previewing an item
- Fix crash caused by models with separate material files trying to load the model as a material
Known bugs
- Models will become corrupted in the preview panel after they are exported, or if another model is removed
Planned features
- Adding the remaining shaders to view all model types
- Skeleton loading and previewing
- Animation loading and previewing
- Attaching animations to skeletons
- Attaching skeletons to models
Viewport controls
- Rotate: Middle mouse click and drag
- Pan: Shift + Middle mouse drag
- Zoom: Scroll wheel
Loading and Exporting a model
- Load a namelist (File -> Import Namelist... -> Select a text file containing PS2 asset names, one per line)
- If you do not have a namelist, generate one. (File -> Generate Namelist... -> Select save location) This will take a bit of time depending on your computer.
- Find a model to preview in the namelist panel and double click it. (
Armor_Common_Male_HeavyAssault_Battleship.adris one of the first models that will preview correctly currently) - In the Models panel, right click the model and select Export. (Even models that don't preview can be exported)
- Choose a location to save the exported glTF file and click Export on the file dialog.
- You should now be able to load the exported model in a glTF viewer of your choice (Blender is what I recommend)
This pre-release provides prebuilt binaries for Windows for warpgate.exe, a tool that allows you to extract assets from Planetside 2 game files. By default these use PTS files located at C:\Users\Public\Daybreak Game Company\Installed Games\PlanetSide 2 Test\Resources\Assets.
This is a very much "it works on my machine" sort of release. If you experience weirdness it could be due to missing libraries or PS2 being located in a weird place.
