Release list
RITVIO Windows 1.0.0 — stable
RITVIO Windows 1.0.0 is the first stable Windows release, delivered together with Android 1.4.0. Previous previews remain available.
What changed
- Check official Windows updates in Settings. Startup checks and preview releases are optional; installation stays under your control.
- Start listening or import a supported playlist directly from an empty library. Review import results without interrupting playback.
- Share a song reference with official downloads, alongside the existing track/lyrics images. A PNG has no clickable link.
- Prepare a bug report, interface feedback or feature idea in Help. Review and optionally copy playback counters; nothing submits automatically.
- Preserve useful audio bytes during overlapping buffer deliveries and close the local service cleanly when a renderer response is unfinished.
Install or update
Choose RITVIO-1.0.0-setup.exe for everyday use. Alternatively, extract the whole portable ZIP once and launch RITVIO.exe, keeping its adjacent files. The standalone portable EXE extracts on every launch and can start more slowly. All formats use the existing Windows profile. Update without uninstalling to keep your local library.
Windows packages are not Authenticode-signed; SmartScreen may show a warning. Supported target: Windows 10/11 x64.
Verification and limits
The combined delivery passed 252 core tests, 73 Android JVM tests and focused browser checks. These exact Windows binaries passed isolated update from 0.7.5, reinstall/uninstall, retained-data and clean-PATH checks, ZIP/runtime validation, native Help/restart and live playback/seek. A five-minute hidden-window live-provider run passed. These are scoped checks, not speaker-output, cold-boot or universal performance guarantees. Broader device/accessibility, OS suspend and Bluetooth coverage remains limited. Catalogue and lyrics availability, network delays and provider limits remain external dependencies.
RELEASE-MANIFEST.json identifies the exact approved binary hashes, corresponding merged source and build-source evidence. SHA256SUMS, corresponding GPLv3 RITVIO source and pinned resolver sources accompany this release. No telemetry, cloud account or automatic update installation was added.

RITVIO Android 1.4.0 — stable
RITVIO Android 1.4.0 is the first stable Android release, delivered together with Windows 1.0.0. Previous previews remain available.
What changed
- Check official Android updates from Settings. Startup checks and previews are optional; installation stays under your control.
- Search or import from an empty collection, read supported-format guidance and review added/skipped/unavailable items.
- Share a short song reference with the existing track/lyrics card. The receiving app may omit the attached caption; a PNG itself has no clickable link.
- Prepare bug reports, interface feedback or feature ideas in Help. Review reports and optional filtered playback counters before copying. Nothing submits automatically.
- Prevent a cancelled background preparation from cancelling an active audio listener; allow one bounded foreground takeover in that case.
Install or update
Install RITVIO-Android-1.4.0.apk over the official installation, without uninstalling, to retain playlists and likes. Version code 22 keeps application ID it.ritvio.android and the official signing certificate. Android 7.0+; ARM64 and x86_64. No RITVIO account, API key, Node.js or Python installation is required.
Verification and limits
The combined source suite passed 252 core tests, 73 Android JVM tests and focused browser checks. APK signature, package/version, official certificate and all 20 native libraries' 16 KB ELF/ZIP alignment were verified. Independently rebuilt web assets match those in this APK. The maintainer accepted this exact signed candidate on a Motorola edge 60 neo / Android 16 after checking retained library, locked-screen track change/seek, Gallery card saving and Help/version context.
Phone acceptance is human-reported, separate from browser fixtures and JVM automation. No broad-device, TalkBack, new Bluetooth/call-interruption or bit-reproducible native-APK certification is claimed. Network/provider delays, catalogue and lyrics availability remain external dependencies.
RELEASE-MANIFEST.json identifies the exact APK hash, signing identity, corresponding merged source and build-source evidence. SHA256SUMS, corresponding GPLv3 RITVIO source and pinned resolver sources accompany this release. No telemetry, cloud account or automatic update installation was added.

RITVIO Android 1.3.1 — readability and accessibility
RITVIO Android 1.3.1 — readability and accessibility
Lyric sharing remains usable with enlarged text and short or landscape windows. Metadata and verses can scroll together while the preview action stays separate; returning from preview restores the excerpt, reading position and endpoint focus. The playing marker has a valid accessible role, and the image preview is keyboard-focusable with visible focus indication. The player stays non-scrolling and playback ownership is unchanged.
Version code 21, signed with the existing official certificate. Install over the official app to retain the local library and preferences; do not uninstall first. This is the exact approved full Gradle APK, not the earlier web-only 1.3.0 trial.
Validation: 65 JVM tests; official signature/package/version checks; all 20 native libraries pass ELF/ZIP 16 KB alignment and official zipalign; packaged web assets and downloaded APK SHA-256 verified. The unchanged interface passed five readability cases / 25 automated accessibility scans, 16 existing mobile interaction cases and three desktop keyboard/modal/reduced-motion cases. See the manifest for the exact source and evidence boundaries.
The maintainer approved publication. This remains a public preview: specific TalkBack, system font/inset and broad-device outcomes are not independently certified. External catalogue, stream and lyrics services can fail or rate-limit requests.
Windows 0.7.5 remains available separately. Previous Android releases are retained. Corresponding RITVIO and pinned resolver sources, a manifest and SHA256SUMS accompany this APK.
RITVIO Windows 0.7.5 — extract-once portable ZIP
Windows 0.7.5
An extract-once portable ZIP joins the Windows installer and self-extracting EXE. The shared lyric image card now fits the wrapped verses and credits, keeping artwork square. Android stays at 1.3.0.

All formats use the existing Windows AppData profile. The ZIP does not move your library onto a USB drive. Close RITVIO before replacing an existing extracted folder; keep your own backup of personal data. Previous releases remain available.
Verification and source
- 217 core tests, 25 desktop browser/player cases and isolated installer install/reinstall/update/uninstall passed in Windows build 39403307392. Both required CI jobs passed in run 39403312904.
- All three downloaded packages matched the build checksums. The downloaded ZIP passed CRC, runtime and license checks. Its extracted executable passed three fresh-profile launches with the personal profile unchanged.
- That executable passed real-provider playback, next, pause/resume, repeated paused seeks and playback after seeking. Opening lyric selection, closing it without export, and changing tracks preserved audio without media errors.
- Actual track, four-line and ten-line 1080x1920 PNG exports passed with the real cover proxy; an eleventh line was rejected. Link copying, malformed-image rejection and renderer isolation passed.
RITVIO-Windows-0.7.5-source.zipis the corresponding merged source at66d94bf7af3371dcc3a0c3fae6458821e7aa1f22. It has the same Git tree as binary-build commitf53af2f3860de40b75bd51ff644ac330205fa16f.RITVIO-resolver-sources.zipcontains the 12 matching pinned resolver dependency source archives. Source remains GPL-3.0-only with third-party notices.RELEASE-MANIFEST.jsonrecords exact files, hashes and test boundaries;SHA256SUMScovers the five download/source assets and manifest. The self-extracting EXE was checksum-verified; this release's local native trial used the ZIP. Installer lifecycle checks ran on GitHub's Windows runner.
Preview limits
Windows EXEs are not Authenticode-signed; SmartScreen may warn. Broad accessibility/device coverage, an hour-long native listening trial and real OS suspend/resume remain open. External catalogue, audio and lyrics services can fail or rate-limit requests. No offline audio or disk audio cache is added.
The playback engine is unchanged from 0.7.4. The ZIP removes repeated startup extraction; it does not remove network delays. Three hidden-window fresh-profile samples reached search controls in 1.37-2.37 seconds on the test PC. These retain OS/security caches and are not cold-boot, visible-paint, speaker-output or universal performance guarantees.
RITVIO Windows 0.7.4 — playback reliability
Windows 0.7.4 — playback reliability
Public preview for Windows 10/11 x64. Download RITVIO-0.7.4-setup.exe for everyday use, or the portable EXE. Required runtimes are included. Update the official installation without uninstalling to preserve your local library; keep a backup. The EXEs are not Authenticode-signed, so SmartScreen may display a warning. The portable self-extracts on launch and can start slowly; prefer the installer.
What changed
- Transient network failures get at most two automatic retries with 1/3-second backoff and a 30-second pending window per attempt. Recovery cannot restart an exhausted, paused or superseded playback request. Rate-limit and non-transient descriptor errors keep the explicit Retry action.
- A stalled, buffering resource gets bounded recovery rather than indefinite loading. Old track events cannot advance the queue or replace the current playing state.
- Seeking while a track is loading keeps the latest target and uses the selected recording's duration. Paused seeks stay paused and do not seek the outgoing track.
- Returning to the app can resume a suspended Web Audio graph when playback is still requested.
- Shutdown cancels owned catalogue/search/import processes before waiting for discovery tasks, avoiding an exit blocked by pending provider requests. Cancellation does not create a false provider error in the discovery cache.
The previous bounded RAM buffering, next-track preparation and equaliser remain available. No disk audio cache or offline download is added.
Verification and limits
The exact uploaded EXEs come from Windows preview run 39177881872: 217 core tests, 25 focused browser/player tests, production/source checks and isolated installer install/reinstall/update/uninstall passed with test data preserved. The downloaded portable passed real-provider playback, three track changes, pause/resume and three paused seeks, followed by successful playback, using an isolated profile. Application shutdown also completed successfully.
These checks do not establish comprehensive Windows-device/accessibility coverage, a 60-minute listening soak or real OS suspend/resume reliability. Network/provider delays and rate limits remain possible; unprepared tracks and seeks outside buffered audio still require network requests. There is no universal latency guarantee. Preloading can fetch a short fragment that is subsequently skipped.
Source and updates
RELEASE-MANIFEST.json identifies the exact binary build commit and matching merged source. Corresponding RITVIO source, pinned resolver source distributions and SHA256SUMS accompany these EXEs. Original code is GPL-3.0-only; third-party licences apply separately.
Verify a download with Get-FileHash .\RITVIO-0.7.4-setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256 and compare it with SHA256SUMS.
The matching Android update is Android 1.2.1. Earlier releases remain available. See privacy, licensing notices and testing boundaries.
RITVIO Android 1.3.0 — lyrics, sharing and queue
Android 1.3.0 — lyrics, sharing and a better queue
Public preview · Android 7.0+ · ARM64 / x86_64 · version code 20. Download RITVIO-Android-1.3.0.apk and install it over the official app. It keeps the existing signing certificate; keep a backup of your local library.
What's new
- Lyrics sharing in two steps: select up to 10 consecutive original lines in a full-height reading area, then open a separate preview. Back restores the excerpt, scroll position and selected line.
- Adaptive story cards: the inner quote card fits the actual wrapped lyrics and credits, including short excerpts. The exported image stays 1080×1920, with square cover artwork beside the credits and RITVIO branding.
- A queue made for touch: pinned current track, clearer upcoming list, larger drag grips, continuous edge scrolling and a bounded final edge. Tap a grip or row menu for move up/down and remove controls. Reordering preserves current playback, shuffle order and duplicate entries.
- A clearer lyrics reader: persistent text size and emphasis controls, a stable active-line layout, independent scrolling and an explicit resume-follow action. Sharing from the reader opens verse selection directly.
Playback recovery and buffering improvements from 1.2.1 are retained.
Verification and limits
The exact APK comes from Android build 39237146190: 36 browser cases and 65 JVM tests passed. Shared source passed 217 core tests; focused desktop sharing and mobile regression checks also passed. Package/version, official signature and all 20 native libraries' 16 KB ELF/ZIP alignment were checked. The maintainer authorised publication of this exact candidate.
Synthetic browser touch tests cover both reorder directions, edge holds, end bounds, cancellation, ordinary scrolling, shuffle and stale revisions. They do not establish physical finger behaviour, TalkBack, system font scaling or prolonged background/audio-focus behaviour on every device. Broad device coverage remains open. External lyrics, artwork, catalogue and stream services can fail or rate-limit requests.
Downloads and source
The signed APK, matching RITVIO source, pinned resolver source distributions, RELEASE-MANIFEST.json and SHA256SUMS are attached. The manifest identifies the tested build and tree-equivalent merged source. Original RITVIO code is GPL-3.0-only; upstream licences remain unchanged.
Verify the APK with Get-FileHash .\RITVIO-Android-1.3.0.apk -Algorithm SHA256 and compare SHA256SUMS.
Windows remains 0.7.4. Previous releases remain available. See privacy, licensing and testing boundaries.
RITVIO Android 1.2.1 — playback reliability
Android 1.2.1 — playback reliability
Public preview for Android 7.0+ (ARM64 / x86_64), version code 19. Download RITVIO-Android-1.2.1.apk and install it over the existing official app without uninstalling. It preserves the official signing certificate and supports an in-place update; keep a backup of your local library.
What changed
- Transient network and selected expired-stream failures get at most two service-owned retries per activation, with 1/3-second backoff and a finite 30-second pending deadline.
- Recovery waits for a validated network and respects audio suppression. Pause, sleep expiry, queue clear, a new track and service destruction invalidate delayed callbacks, preventing obsolete retries from resuming a previous track.
- Explicit retries clear the track's short failure cache while preserving the global rate-limit cooldown. Background preparation yields while recovery is pending.
- Ordered native snapshots prevent late bridge responses from replacing newer cover artwork, track, seek or pause state. A paused buffering item no longer appears to be loading for playback; an empty queue is not reported as playing.
- Explicit system-media Play can prepare the current idle item after a cancelled recovery. No-op queue controls do not discard a valid pending recovery.
The previous native buffering/preloading and playback-speed improvements are retained. No new Android permissions, disk audio cache or offline download feature are introduced.
Verification and limits
Android preview run 39177881929 passed 20 browser interface tests and 65 native JVM tests. Shared source passed 217 core tests in the Windows build. The signed APK's package/version, official upgrade certificate and all 20 native libraries' 16 KB ELF/ZIP alignment were checked. Downloaded candidate bytes were also checksum-verified.
Browser and JVM tests do not establish physical-device background playback or audio-focus behaviour. This exact APK still needs the physical Motorola Android 16 acceptance run: prolonged locked-screen listening, Wi-Fi/mobile handoff, calls, Bluetooth/headphone changes and sleep/recovery interactions. No device benchmark, universal latency promise or comprehensive native certification is claimed. External catalogue, stream, artwork and lyrics services can fail or rate-limit requests; unprepared tracks and seeks outside available audio remain network-dependent.
Source and updates
Corresponding RITVIO source, exact pinned resolver source distributions, RELEASE-MANIFEST.json and SHA256SUMS are attached. The manifest records the exact binary build and matching merged source. Original RITVIO code is GPL-3.0-only; upstream components retain their own licences.
Verify a download with Get-FileHash .\RITVIO-Android-1.2.1.apk -Algorithm SHA256 and compare it with SHA256SUMS.
The matching desktop update is Windows 0.7.4. Previous releases remain available; do not uninstall simply to downgrade. See privacy, licensing notices and testing boundaries.
RITVIO Windows 0.7.3 — faster playback
Windows 0.7.3 — faster prepared track changes
Public preview for Windows 10/11 x64. For everyday use, download RITVIO-0.7.3-setup.exe. The portable EXE is also available. Both include the required runtimes: no Node.js or Python installation is needed. Install over the existing official version without uninstalling to preserve your local library. Windows executables are not Authenticode-signed; SmartScreen may show a warning.
What changed
- One next track is prepared after the current track has enough buffered audio. Background preparation yields to current playback and cancels when no longer needed.
- A bounded 16 MiB RAM buffer reuses encoded audio ranges for prepared playback and seeks. There is no disk audio cache or offline download.
- Known tracks avoid an extra metadata lookup. Duplicate stream resolutions share work, while fresh retries replace obsolete in-flight preparation.
- Playback diagnostics keep a bounded set of local timing samples and buffer counters, without song titles, identifiers or stream URLs. Nothing is uploaded automatically.
Checks and measured limits
The exact uploaded EXEs come from Windows preview run 39158729658. It passed 211 core tests, 13 focused browser/player tests, production/source checks and an isolated installer install/reinstall/update/uninstall test with test data preserved. The downloaded portable passed the native playback/next/pause/resume/seek harness using an isolated profile. The maintainer approved this candidate for release.
A small sequential comparison of three prepared track changes per version measured a median 317.5 ms → 87.7 ms. These are HTML media-event timings, not independently measured speaker output or a universal speed guarantee. The uncached first track stayed at about 2.8 seconds; paused seeks were already quick and stayed around 8–9 ms. Unprepared tracks and seeks outside buffered audio still depend on the provider and network. Preloading can fetch a short fragment of a next track that you later skip.
Portable startup: the first fresh launch exceeded the test's 90-second startup budget. A follow-up using a fresh profile reached the UI in 26.8 seconds, and the complete playback harness subsequently passed. The portable self-extracts on launch. Prefer the installer to avoid that extraction on each start; an installer startup benchmark is not claimed.
This remains a public preview: broad Windows-device/accessibility coverage is incomplete. External catalogue, stream and lyrics services can change, fail or rate-limit requests. There is no automatic update service or cloud library sync. See privacy and licensing notices.
Source and verification
The release includes the corresponding RITVIO source, pinned resolver dependency sources, RELEASE-MANIFEST.json and SHA256SUMS. Original RITVIO code is GPL-3.0-only; third-party components retain their own licences. The manifest identifies the reviewed source and exact binary build commit.
Verify a downloaded EXE in PowerShell with Get-FileHash .\RITVIO-0.7.3-setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256, then compare it with SHA256SUMS.
Android remains 1.2.0 and is not repackaged here. Windows 0.7.2 and previous Android releases remain available for rollback. Do not uninstall merely to downgrade; keep a backup of your local library.
RITVIO Android 1.2.0 — faster playback
RITVIO Android 1.2.0 — public preview
Faster track transitions and seeking on Android. Windows remains on 0.7.2 in the Windows release; previous Android releases remain available for rollback.
What's new
- Native preloading prepares up to the next five seconds of the following track after playback settles, yielding to the current track's loading.
- Up to 60 seconds of already-played audio can stay in RAM to make backward seeks quicker. There is no audio file cache or offline download.
- Startup/rebuffer targets are reduced to 500/1000 ms. These are buffer settings, not promises about click-to-sound latency.
- Repeated stream lookups share a request, metadata is cached with expiry, and selected tracks have a separate bounded lane from speculative requests. Cancelled skips no longer temporarily mark the previous track as failed; genuine rate-limit backoff is preserved.
- Native playback events update the visible controls immediately instead of waiting only for the position poll.
- Settings → Copy playback diagnostics copies a local timing report without track titles, identifiers or stream URLs. Nothing is uploaded automatically.
Install or update
Download RITVIO-Android-1.2.0.apk. Android 7.0+ / API 24+, ARM64 and x86_64, versionCode 18. Install over your existing official app without uninstalling to preserve local data. The signing certificate is unchanged. No development tools, account or API key are required.
Source and verification
- This is the exact APK tested by the maintainer, who reported a clear improvement in playback speed on the phone. No instrumented-device benchmark or percentage speedup is claimed.
- Clean-checkout CI passed 200 core, 44 browser and 60 native JVM tests. All 20 native libraries passed the 16 KB ELF/ZIP checks. The APK signature and upgrade certificate were verified.
- APK SHA-256:

Known limits
Unprepared tracks and seeks outside the available audio buffer still require the network. Preloading may fetch a short fragment of a next track that is subsequently skipped. External catalogue, stream, artwork and lyrics services may break or be rate-limited.
This remains a public preview. Comprehensive device/accessibility, Bluetooth, audio-focus and prolonged background coverage is incomplete; browser/JVM tests cannot certify these behaviours. There is no automatic updater, hosted account, cross-device library sync or offline audio download.
Provider sources and attribution remain in Settings. Software licensing does not grant rights to music, lyrics or artwork; see PRIVACY.md and THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md in the source. Automatic lyrics use LRCLIB, for which a general content licence has not been verified.
RITVIO Android 1.1.1 — public preview
RITVIO Android 1.1.1 — public preview
An Android-only update. Windows remains on 0.7.2 in the previous release; earlier APKs remain available there for rollback.
What's new
- Choose or restore a photo for your personal playlists. Track covers stay supplied by the catalogue, including in the player, queue, media controls and share images.
- Overrides created by the 1.1.0 test candidate are retired without changing personal playlist covers.
- Higher-resolution artwork when the provider offers it, with fallback to the original thumbnail.
- Loading is indicated in Play only; the mini-player keeps the artist visible and real playback errors still offer Retry.
- Browse genres and moods/activities in Home and Search, then open their playlists and available tracks. Results use a bounded cache; mixed song/album/playlist carousels no longer break the category parser.
- Playlist file export includes a smaller portable custom cover, without private paths or audio.
