Release list
v0.0.5
Prerelease for macOS, Windows and Linux — see the macos, windows and linux tags. First Linux release.
Downloaded county data is now drawn. Layers fetched on the Data screen (State Wildlife Areas, Walk-In Access, State Trust Land, GMUs, WGFD hunt and access areas) can be switched on in the Layers tab and appear on the map, in the Preview and in the exported PDF, using each layer's own colours and opacity slider. Layers that need a download stay disabled until they have been downloaded.
Fixes map overlays not drawing in the packaged app. MapLibre's worker couldn't be located from the app's tauri:// origin, so GeoJSON overlays (including the print-area outline) silently failed.
Known limitation: downloaded layers use their fixed style; they aren't yet classified into land-access categories.

v0.0.4
Bug-fix prerelease for Windows and macOS — see the windows and macos tags.
County data downloads now work. In every earlier release, Download Selected failed — first with "missing field layer_id", and every configured source URL was also dead (HTTP 400/403/404). Downloads now use the agencies' live map services (CPW, Colorado State Land Board, Wyoming Game & Fish, Wyoming State Lands), page through large datasets, and complete.
Fixes "Storage error: migration 1 was previously applied but has been modified" on the 0.0.2–0.0.3 Windows builds (a line-ending mismatch). Existing data is kept.
Also: Wyoming "Game Management Districts" is now Elk Hunt Areas (WGFD publishes per-species hunt areas); Checkerboard Ownership is no longer downloadable (no public dataset).
Known limitation: downloaded layers are saved but not yet drawn on the map — that's the next piece of work.
- Windows: x86_64 NSIS installer, installs per-user (no Administrator prompt). Unsigned, so SmartScreen warns on first run — choose More info → Run anyway.
- macOS: universal (arm64 + x86_64)
.dmg. Unsigned/not notarized, so Gatekeeper requires right-click → Open on first launch.
See CHANGELOG.md for details.
v0.0.3
Dependency-update prerelease for Windows and macOS — see the windows and macos tags. No app behaviour changes beyond what the upgraded libraries bring.
Updated: Tauri 2.11.6 and its plugins (dialog 2.8.1, opener 2.7.0, shell 2.4.0, sql 2.5.0) with matching @tauri-apps/* npm packages, vite 8.3.2, rustls 0.23.45, uuid 1.27.0, tokio 1.53.2, source-map-js 1.2.2 (#22–#25).
See CHANGELOG.md for details.
v0.0.2
Windows prerelease. See the windows tag — Windows only, x86_64 NSIS installer built from the Tauri app. Installs per-user (no Administrator prompt). Unsigned (no code-signing certificate yet), so Windows SmartScreen will warn on first run — choose More info → Run anyway. WebView2 ships with Windows 11; on older Windows 10 the installer fetches it automatically.
Fixes from Windows 11 testing:
- Magnetic declination was wrong (WMM2025 math bug) — now matches NOAA; the compass shows the epoch used.
- Map element toggles (title block, disclaimer, grid, legend, …) now apply to the exported PDF; Preview has Save & Apply.
- Settings that never stuck (hide disclaimer, experience level, export preferences) now persist.
- Moving the area box no longer drifts the scale (e.g. 1:49,909 → 1:50,000).
- No more overlapping title / coordinate labels / scale text / warning box; the preview is now the exact export page, with zoom and pan.
- Layers tab zooms to and outlines the selected print area.
- Data downloads show immediate progress and keep errors on screen; slow connections no longer time out after 120s.
- Settings → Display: text size, and a wide/curved-screen layout (auto-detects ultrawide).
See CHANGELOG.md for details.
v0.0.1b
Initial prerelease. See the macos tag — macOS only, universal binary (arm64 + x86_64) built from the Tauri app. Unsigned/not notarized (Apple Developer ID signing not yet configured), so Gatekeeper will require right-click → Open on first launch. The Xcode/Swift build (swift-app/) is not included in this release — its signing is not yet set up.
