Open and Fast Foundation

This Alpha establishes the public, protected, fast, and reproducible delivery foundation for Balls while preserving the implemented Windows Circle/Node checkpoint.

Verified outcome

  • focused Windows feedback: 6.03 seconds
  • complete local fast gate: 33.69 seconds
  • fixed Windows 2025 and Ubuntu 24.04 pull-request lanes under five minutes
  • dependency review, C# CodeQL, OpenSSF Scorecard, Dependabot, and full action-SHA enforcement
  • every successful main commit publishes deterministic, checksummed Canary artifacts
  • exact release commit: 66b94a3fce9485ce448736f3dc996f6611f1e742

Assets

The Windows archive is a runnable development Canary. Install-BallsCanary.ps1 verifies the external archive checksum and every internal packaged-file checksum, installs to isolated state, starts ballsd, and confirms readiness with balls status.

The Linux archive is build/test evidence only. Linux runtime remains unsupported until 0.2.0-alpha.1; its manifest reports runtimeSupported: false.

The SPDX 2.3 SBOM is exported from GitHub's dependency graph for the accepted default-branch state. The binaries are unsigned prerelease artifacts. No artifact-attestation or Stable-support claim is made.
