Release list
Balls Development — Clean Windows Bootstrap
Exact green-main Development candidate for #101 and the Private Boss Demo. Includes the self-contained Windows x64 package, integrity metadata, legacy release-engineering installer, and native current-user bootstrap. Unsigned Development software; not an Alpha acceptance or promotion.
Balls Development — Private Boss Demo
Balls 0.3.0-alpha.1 — Trusted Circle
Trusted Circle
This Alpha delivers secure invitation-based Circle admission, authenticated encrypted LAN transport, restart-stable shared membership, and one persistent signed Circle message across two Nodes.
Verified outcome
- bounded, signed, single-use Circle invitations
- TLS 1.3 invitation-pinned bootstrap and admitted-peer mutual authentication
- stable two-Member/two-Node roster across daemon restart
- one retry-stable Member-and-Node-signed persistent message
- the same Circle state through the CLI and local browser workspace
- exact release commit:
8dc39455ac432c6f295a86fad3a765d4f70a1fe9
The exact Windows and Linux uploads passed their external and internal checksums, fresh native installation, structured CLI/Circle work, real browser rendering, restart, and a repeatable physical-Windows/Ubuntu-VM private-network journey through invitation, admission, shared membership, persistent messaging, and exact retry without duplication.
Assets
Both archives are runnable development Canaries promoted without rebuilding. The matching installer verifies the archive checksum and every internal packaged-file checksum before starting ballsd and confirming readiness. The attached GitHub dependency-graph document contains an SPDX 2.3 SBOM with 333 packages and 487 relationships.
These are unsigned prerelease artifacts. The release does not claim artifact attestation, physical-Linux proof, automatic Anchor failover, multiple-Anchor replication, Circle Files, rich chat, Tailscale, or a macOS remote TLS server. The observed cross-host journey used one physical Windows host and one virtual Ubuntu 24.04 host.

Balls 0.2.0-alpha.1 — Cross-platform Node and Web UI
Cross-platform Node and Web UI
This Alpha delivers the first native Windows and Linux Balls Node with one CLI and browser workspace over the same local application behavior.
Verified outcome
- native Windows and Linux
ballsdandballspackages - local Circle creation, listing, and durable Node/Circle identity across restart
- real Chrome workspace smoke with loopback-only listeners and fragment capability URLs
- fixed Windows 2025 and Ubuntu 24.04 fast lanes, C# CodeQL, and OpenSSF Scorecard
- exact release commit:
3935b6ac275b24c8ed2389862b012da747099f34
The exact Linux upload passed its archive and internal checksums, fresh install, structured CLI, real Chrome, loopback binding, and restart smoke in the owned Ubuntu 24.04 VM. The exact Windows upload passed the same end-to-end smoke on GitHub's Windows 2025 runner after one non-reproducible readiness miss on the first attempt. A separately downloaded copy was checksum-valid but blocked on the owner's managed PC by Enterprise Application Control because these Alpha binaries are unsigned; no security policy was weakened.
Assets
Both archives are runnable development Canaries. The matching installer verifies the archive checksum and every internal packaged-file checksum before starting ballsd and confirming readiness. The SPDX 2.3 SBOM is exported from GitHub's dependency graph for the accepted default-branch state.
These are unsigned prerelease artifacts. No artifact-attestation, background-service installer, macOS runtime, or Stable-support claim is made. Managed Windows environments may require an administrator-approved signing or allow policy.

Balls 0.1.0-alpha.2 — Open and Fast Foundation
Open and Fast Foundation
This Alpha establishes the public, protected, fast, and reproducible delivery foundation for Balls while preserving the implemented Windows Circle/Node checkpoint.
Verified outcome
- focused Windows feedback: 6.03 seconds
- complete local fast gate: 33.69 seconds
- fixed Windows 2025 and Ubuntu 24.04 pull-request lanes under five minutes
- dependency review, C# CodeQL, OpenSSF Scorecard, Dependabot, and full action-SHA enforcement
- every successful
maincommit publishes deterministic, checksummed Canary artifacts - exact release commit:
66b94a3fce9485ce448736f3dc996f6611f1e742
Assets
The Windows archive is a runnable development Canary. Install-BallsCanary.ps1 verifies the external archive checksum and every internal packaged-file checksum, installs to isolated state, starts ballsd, and confirms readiness with balls status.
The Linux archive is build/test evidence only. Linux runtime remains unsupported until 0.2.0-alpha.1; its manifest reports runtimeSupported: false.
The SPDX 2.3 SBOM is exported from GitHub's dependency graph for the accepted default-branch state. The binaries are unsigned prerelease artifacts. No artifact-attestation or Stable-support claim is made.
