v0.1.0

Sediment 0.1.0 is the first public release.

Capture coding-agent activity as immutable Facts, inspect retained edits and outcomes, and export data for fine-tuning, preference training, and reinforcement learning. Sediment stores Facts in PostgreSQL and computes Attribution, reports, and training exports from the retained evidence.

Quickstart

sediment server

The installer installs sediment-cli from PyPI with Python 3.12 and prepares maintained host libraries on macOS with Homebrew, Debian, and Ubuntu. If installation prints a PATH instruction, run it in each terminal where you use sediment.

sediment server downloads verified PostgreSQL binaries, creates the local database and credentials, and starts the API. Data stays under ~/.sediment/server; Ctrl+C stops both processes. A later start reuses the stored data.

Follow the quickstart to connect an agent and verify capture. For a shared deployment, use the deployment guide.

Validation scope

This first release validates package builds, installed local-server behavior,
security inventories, and the installed synthetic capture-to-export pipeline.
Fresh live capture across pi, Cursor, Codex, gateway, and forge integrations
was not rerun for this release. Follow the agent-specific verification guide
for your deployment; recorded fixtures and synthetic checks do not certify a
vendor's latest release.

Distribution and verification

The six Python distributions share version 0.1.0: sediment-api, sediment-capture, sediment-cli, sediment-core, sediment-derive, and sediment-export. Installing sediment-cli resolves the required packages.

Release assets include the wheels, source distributions, installer, security inventories, support metadata, and SHA256SUMS. Host libraries remain maintained by your operating system; the release inventories do not certify a particular host installation. See the security guide.
