[Players] Installation Setup

Sensitive Pigeon edited this page Jul 12, 2026 · 2 revisions

Install using your preferred loader off of the Curseforge or Modrinth pages.

Ensure you have Fabric as your loader.

To begin, craft the book using a diamond and a writable book item. There does not have to be writing within the book itself you use. It's shapeless, so no specific placement is required.

Once crafted, hold in hand and right click to open the UI.

Your left page will display your currently accepted bargains. Accepting a bargain will populate this page, and it shows you how many you have left at the top. There is a "?" you can press to open the Help page which introduces the Broker who manages the Bargains for you.

Your right page will populate with available bargains -- their title, a short line, and what they require and reward. Press "Accept" to begin the bargain. Click on the Title for more information on that bargain if you wish to know more before accepting it.

Once you have gathered the required items, you will be able to turn in the bargain for its reward.

Notes

  • You can only accept 3 bargains at a time.
  • Accepted bargains are kept forever. Reroll does not affect them, nor does the daily reset.
  • Your gathered count will change live.
  • Bargains will shuffle daily, and may populate with ones you have already completed. This is a feature, not a bug.
  • Sleeping will allow the daily reshuffle and reroll to reset.

Unlocking New Tiers

The Book currently has five tiers. Unlocking the next tier requires completion of a number of bargains in the tier before it. Tiers are unlocked permanently, and can be retroactively browsed and accepted -- in case you need what a lower tier bargain is offering. You can see how many bargains are left to complete before the next tier by paging to its respective page.

  • Tier 1 - Stranger. You are a stranger to the patrons within the system, and you're starting fresh without a reputation. These bargains will reward low amounts of resources and easier to find resources.
  • Tier 2 - Known. Your name is being passed around. These are still lower bargains, but you might catch some better deals here and there.
  • Tier 3 - Trusted. You are starting to get a reputation for your completions. Better deals, better rewards.
  • Tier 4 - Favored. Only two bargains are offered, here. They know your name. They're coming to you for what they need.
  • Tier 5 - Renowned. One bargain per day. These are the top-tier bargains, offered only to the trusted. That's you. Even the Broker is impressed.

Datapacks

QuestTome supports datapacks that add quests for the mod.

For singleplayers: Put the folder/zip in your datapacks folder. In game, "/datapack list" should confirm it's seen. Quests will appear on the next rotation roll.

Known Issues

If your quest disappears after updating or adding a pack, it is because your pack/mod may have edited or changed the quest and it is no longer valid data. This is working as intended.
