Changelogs (Updated 1.1)
Here I'll keep the changelogs for each update.
"Hello again, You. I've added some things you might enjoy to this little book of ours. Enjoy your new Codex. I've added it just for You..." -The Broker
Version 1.1 is a back end focused memory release: The Book of Bargains now keeps a record of what players have completed through the Codex! This added memory now has use features: One-and-done bargains, multi-step chains, and more!
Compatible with Minecraft Version 1.20.1 (Fabric). Loads with 1.0 saves cleanly, does not erase progress or crash.
-
The Codex of Bargains: A new page in the Book has been added. It lists all the bargains you have completed in order. Page through history and click entries to revisit descriptions! Look upon the record of your works and rejoice!
-
The Voyage of the Nether Ship: The Pillar of Truth is making its maiden voyage - see if you can get on board! An early investment in their fuel cost unlocks further Bargains that show up over time. Each tier beyond the first has an associated "Dock-Building" quest that is required before the ship will dock and offer you rewards from where it's been! These are once-only rewards until Tier V, where the ship will offer its true treasure...
-
Enchantment Research: 1.1.1 adds the Enchantment research questline. Accepting the Arbiter's offer puts you on the path to fund his research into Sharpness and Protection enchants. Granting him more funds when requested rewards you with enchanted books!
-
Abandoning Bargains: A feature has been added, the ability to change your mind about accepted bargains and remove them from your currently accepted list. Clicking "Abandon" on the descriptions view will remove it from your log. Careful, the Broker won't be happy with your decision!
-
Meet the Patrons: Now, Patrons are collapsed and focused into identifiable and ineffable entities. Whether it's a wanting Cosmic celestial, or a confused Mundane human, each Patron has a different personality and desire. The full list and lore is on the Wiki for now - 1.2 will add additional features to the Patrons including a personal codex listing!
Modders rejoice! New features for data-pack driven additions are here. 1.1 entries are optional, meaning 1.0 files parse unchanged!
New Format Entries:
- Repeatable: This new boolean is set to default "true", set "false" to make a bargain completable only once per player, ever.
- Requires_quest: A string that is the ID of a prerequisite bargain, or multiple!
- Rewards: Now it can parse an array! Supports multiple reward bundles, if chosen, and now supports NBT as of 1.1.1
A web tool that formats quests in a pack for you is in progress!
Other Features:
-
Lifetime History: Completion history is permanent and now survives datapack changes. Removing and later restoring a pack does not delete history. Protects quests from pack updates!
-
Loading Warnings: The loader now warns (without crashing) if requires_quest is pointed at something that doesn't exist or if the rewards array includes typo'd rewards in addition to current 1.0 warnings. Invalid bargains still fail safely, staying hidden until fixed and reporting the reason for a failed load.
-
Patron Keys: the "patron" field is now used throughout the pack. Patron keys are stable ids: display names and flavor are separate. Custom pack Patrons now work today as bare identifiers. Features that read and utilize those keys are coming soon in later updates!
-
Announcement Layer: This is a sneaky, silent addition to this update. Announcement layers have been added to certain events in the mod, meaning future KubeJS integration will be able to read and translate them via a bridge. No current effects for players. Finalized in the KubeJS specific update!
ALL QuestTome updates strive to keep 1.0 saves loading cleanly and without data loss.
Each time the mod updates, I will try to make sure it doesn't erase your progress on earlier versions.
Important notes.
- 1.0 Saves will load with this update, cleanly. New progress data will begin. No crashes.
- 1.0 Quest Packs parse unchanged. New quest keys are optional and defaults to 1.0 behavior when ommited.
- Datapack layout is unchanged.
This update fixes too many bargains being displayed at ranks 4 and 5 and other small issues.
The Codex currently displays bargains chronologically, in the order they're completed. Grouping by patron will be added later.
Reward bundles pay out in full. Careful of your inventory!
