Future Features Roadmap
Here's the current road map, including far-off future ideas. This adjusts to player requests! Please send feedback. I am slow so don't expect these soon, but hopefully eventually.
This is a back-end update that addresses a few things. It adds the Codex, and tracking for completions of quests. It enables chain quests and one-and-done quests. It also adds support for multiple item rewards. Adds the ability to "decline" bargains and remove them from active list. Vanilla pack rethemed around the new Patrons. Nether Ship chain added. Adds invisible announcement layer.
Systems stuff, support for 4+ offers by in-page paging, text styling and UI polish. Adds opt-in NBT matching for enchanted item rewards, along with tags to make turn-ins smarter (No more croptopia vs farmer's delight onion required issues). Adds "Patron" browser to the Codex, groups bargains by Patron.
Adds NBT to the system, allowing for enchantment rewards! A new quest chain/pack specifically for enchantments will be added, one or two for the main update. Featuring dedicated lines for 'researching' an enchantment, allowing the acquirement of Protection/Sharpness/Others without engaging in Minecraft's vanilla and awful gambling system.
It will also add the ability to put the book on a lectern. No more lugging around an inventory slot!
Further updates:
Quest pack: Culinarium. Adds an optional quest pack for Farmer's Delight and End's Delight. Basic rewards for now.
Quest Chain: Lost in Translation. Adds the Translator patron for players to receive Bargains from. Either aid him in his obsessive quest or ignore him: the choice is yours.
Updates to 1.2.x will be content oriented, bug fixes.
This is the compat update for KubeJS scripts. Enabling those to work with my mod for lots of fun activities. Code-heavy, back end stuff. This adds a bridge and translator for KubeJS scripts to run off of. Launching with simple events, added more later. Most of the front end stuff is quest chains and packs.
Quest Chain: Witness to the Prosecution. Aid the Arbiter in his quest to assemble his trial and receive enchanting rewards for doing so!
1.3.x may arrive with optional, fun kubeJS scripts for those interested.
This is the front-end update for Patrons: Adding their personal dislikes and rivalries, their personally tracked esteem, and their personal quest tracking. They'll be more identifiable and interactable, with unique quest chains and rewards.
This is a lore-heavy update that's made entirely optional by adding a Tier 0: Patrons. You'll be able to page back from Tier 1 into the new Patrons tier to engage with the new Cosmic Patrons and their personal rivalries, optionally! They have tons of rewards and cool flavor, so it's worth it for those looking for a story behind the mod!
The Broker's esteem is also in this update. Raise your reputation with the book's main entity and receive... something cool!
Quest Chain: Constructing Olympus. Aid the Grand Architect in constructing his perfect realm.
Quest Chain: Fallen From Grace. Aid a mysterious Patron in a haunting prologue to his arrival.
1.4.x fixes and feedbacks.
There is probably an economy style update before 2.0, which unlocks currency and stat rewards, special tiers, and alt unlock conditions. The Book gains a currency for some optional flavor for those interested! Patrons will have shops ("Sanctums") and personal offers derived off that currency. Packs can now implement their own currencies, too!
New Patron: [ ] arrives.
Quest Chain: [ ] and his desires put you at risk. You have options to side with the Broker, or follow []'s whims.
Per-Patron quest chains are refined and added one by one in further updates.
This is massive update to the server side capabilities of Grimoire. Shared bounties. Server shared/global bounties. When the book is placed on a ledger, the Server-Bounty board will appear and the system will load. The Broker model may appear as an entity model tied to the new Ledger. Examples of potential features include a server-global bounty that takes contributions from every player, or competitive bounties that players race to complete or accept before each other.
I hope I get here.
NO GENERATOR. Not doing that. But, a web tool that organizes quests into a helpful pack of json to skip the tedious nature of quest-making is definitely a future wish of mine. Leaves all design aspects to the modders and myself.
