BlindRSS for Android v0.9.0

New: Edit feed. Find it in a feed's actions on the home screen (swipe up or down with TalkBack, or double tap and hold) and in Feeds with Errors.

• Change the feed's title.
• Move it to another category: type a new one, or pick an existing one from the list.
• Change a local feed's address. A website address works too. The new address is checked before anything is saved, and articles you already have keep their read, favorite, download and resume state.

With a provider signed in, the rename and move happen on the server too, so the next sync keeps them: Miniflux, Inoreader, The Old Reader, BazQux, FreshRSS, Feedbin and NewsBlur. Fever has no way to do this and tells you so.

Fixes:

• A refresh running at the same time can no longer undo an edit or a mute.
• Unsubscribing from Discover now really unsubscribes on your provider and removes the articles, so the feed no longer comes back on the next sync.
• Selected rows in Discover now still say "Double tap to preview".

BlindRSS for Android v0.8.0

Home screen categories are now collapsed: one row per category instead of a heading followed by every feed. Double tap a category to open its articles. Its actions (swipe up or down with TalkBack, or double tap and hold) are Expand, Play category and Download category. Play category plays the newest unplayed episode and puts the rest in Up next. Download category downloads every unplayed episode in that category; it is off by default, turn it on in Settings, Playback, Download whole categories.

BlindRSS for Android v0.7.0

Podcasts, finished. Audio keeps playing in the background with the screen off, with controls in the notification, on the lock screen and on headphones. A mini player sits at the bottom of every screen; the full player has a Minimize button. New: Up next queue (Play next, Add to Up next, move, remove; kept after restart), resume where you left off, finished episodes marked played, sleep timer at end of episode, previous and next episode, a Podcast Episodes view, and a Downloads list with delete. Downloads run in the background with a progress notification. YouTube: play, queue and download YouTube videos as audio in the app, using yt-dlp (nightly, updated daily; Settings, About has Update yt-dlp). Needs Android 11 or newer on a 64-bit device. The app is larger because it now includes yt-dlp's Python and FFmpeg.

New: Feedbin sign-in. Read aloud: any article can be spoken through the player (speed, sleep timer and screen-off listening work), then the next unread article starts. Miniflux: faster sync that only fetches what changed, Refresh asks your server to update first, and a Save to integrations action sends articles to the read-later services set up in Miniflux. Read and favorite changes made offline are kept and sent later. New options: save full text for offline reading, and keep only the newest articles per feed. Refresh skips unchanged feeds and fixes garbled accents in some feeds.
