v0.3.0 — hand-rolled ConPTY, leaner deps
What's new
Internal refactor of the PTY layer. No user-facing behaviour change from v0.2.1 on either platform; Windows keeps the same functional behaviour with one minor cosmetic artifact (see below).
- Dropped deps:
github.com/aymanbagabas/go-pty,github.com/u-root/u-root,golang.org/x/crypto. Binaries are a little smaller, dep graph is trimmer. - Direct PTY backends:
- Unix:
github.com/creack/pty(was a transitive dep, now direct). - Windows: a minimal ConPTY wrapper in
pty_windows.go, based onUserExistsError/conpty(MIT), built ongolang.org/x/sys/windows. Supports.cmd/.batshims viacmd.exe /cwrapping, useful ifclaudeis npm-installed.
- Unix:
- Platform-neutral
PTYtype inpty.goover a per-OSbackendinterface. Future Windows experiments (ConPTY flags, input-mode tweaks) have a clean home.
Windows status
ConPTY's PSEUDOCONSOLE_PASSTHROUGH_MODE was investigated as a fix for the minor "dismissed-modal ghost line" artifact. The system-wide CreatePseudoConsole accepts the flag but its implementation produces worse rendering than the translating-mode default, so it's not used. The nested-ConPTY VT re-translation remains a Microsoft-side limitation; fixing it cleanly would require access to Microsoft's private OpenConsole.exe. Acceptable for now.

v0.2.1 — Windows actually works now
Fix
v0.2.0 shipped Windows binaries that compiled but refused to start:
error: start claude pty: pty start: unsupported
Root cause: creack/pty's pty.Start returns ErrUnsupported on Windows despite the README suggesting Windows support. This release swaps to github.com/aymanbagabas/go-pty, which uses a real ConPTY implementation on Windows.
Install on Windows
curl -L https://github.com/shero4/clod/releases/download/v0.2.1/clod-windows-amd64.exe -o clod.exe
.\clod.exeRun from PowerShell or Windows Terminal. Legacy cmd.exe won't render the VT escape sequences clod uses for prompt injection.

v0.2.0 — Native Windows support
What's new
Native Windows support via ConPTY. No WSL required. clod now runs your claude session from PowerShell or Windows Terminal exactly like it does on Linux and macOS.

Windows notes
- Run clod from Windows Terminal or PowerShell 7, not legacy
cmd.exe. clod injects VT escape sequences (bracketed paste + Enter) and legacy consoles don't handle them. - Requires Windows 10 Anniversary Update (2016) or later, i.e. anywhere ConPTY is available. That's effectively every supported Windows version today.
claude.cmdis discovered on PATH automatically (npm puts it there when younpm i -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code).
Implementation
pty.go keeps the shared lifecycle. pty_unix.go uses SIGWINCH; pty_windows.go polls term.GetSize at 5 Hz and calls pty.InheritSize on change. ConPTY does the rest.
See the README for setup, flags, and architecture.
v0.1.0 — Initial release
First tagged release of clod — a PTY-bridged MCP server that lets a remote Claude drive a live local Claude Code session.
What's in it
mcp__clod__run(prompt)— remote-callable tool that injects a prompt into your local claude TUI and returns the final answer- Bearer-token auth, persisted to
~/.claude/clod/token - Zero runtime config: one command, one binary, prints its own
.mcp.jsonsnippet on boot - Works on Linux and macOS (amd64 + arm64)
Install
Grab the binary for your platform below, or:
curl -L https://github.com/shero4/clod/releases/download/v0.1.0/clod-linux-amd64 -o clod
chmod +x clodRequires a working claude on PATH.
Verify
sha256sum -c SHA256SUMSSee the README for architecture and flags.
