7.1 IM Assistant
IM Assistant is the local version of Firmware Web flasher and Web CAN ID Tool. It is still under work.
IM Assistant treats the base URL of the firmware tool as the repository root. When you paste a repository URL into IM Assistant, you do not need to include firmwarelist.json—IM Assistant will automatically append and fetch it as needed.
This design choice is intentional. By treating the URL as a repository rather than a single file endpoint, IM Assistant can later discover and consume additional JSON resources before or alongside firmwarelist.json as the platform evolves. This allows future expansion without breaking existing links.
For example, future (currently unimplemented) resources may include:
privacy_policy.json
Because of this behavior, only the repository root should be provided.
Correct:
https://studenttechsupport.com/customcanespfw/
Incorrect:
https://studenttechsupport.com/customcanespfw/firmwarelist.json
Using the repository root ensures forward compatibility and allows IM Assistant to dynamically manage and extend its firmware metadata discovery process without requiring user-side changes.
Please look under Web flasher page.
Winodws update will automatically install card reader driver if your computer is internet connected. It should appear as Microsoft Usbccid Smartcard Reader in Device Manager. In addition, if battery tag is placed on the reader, a Unknown Smart Card will appear. This is normal.
