New in the Game Room: Zen Garden
A little tray of sand to rake while you wait, floating over the game in its own wooden frame (zen mode). Its buttons are carved into the frame's corners: exit, move, resize, and an arrow that opens and closes the tools.
- Rake lines with a rake, a stick or a brush. Hold on anything you've placed to rake rings around it.
- Place stones, flowers, stone lanterns and bonsai, all drawn from photos of real Japanese gardens:
- Bonsai: pines, junipers and autumn maples in stoneware pots, with leaning trunks and layered cloud-shaped leaves
- Stones: craggy, rounded and flat, in mottled colours, some with small companions and a bed of moss
- Lanterns: a weathered stone roof with curled corners and a lotus top, and a flickering flame that lights up the sand around it
- Flowers: camellias, chrysanthemums and cherry blossoms, with open blossoms and buds
- Everything you place casts a soft shadow on the sand, which fades as the garden gets darker.
- Let out fireflies that drift about and softly glow, lighting the sand below them.
- Automatic slowly rakes 17 calm patterns by itself, in a random order that never repeats until each has been used, then rakes rings around your stones and lanterns. Hold the Automatic button to pick a pattern from a list.
- A soft raking sound with a volume slider and a new Tone slider, from softer to sharper.
- A brightness slider, from full daylight to night with glowing lanterns.
- Steady hand tidies your lines, an optional triangle grid snaps things into place, four sand colours, undo, clear everything at once, and save a picture.
- Battery saver setting (Android 13 and newer) for a lighter way of drawing the sand.
- Your garden is saved as you go.
New: Settings
Find it at the bottom of the bubble's long-press menu, or with the Settings button on the app's main screen.
- Dark mode: Off, On, or Match phone. Every tool window turns dark, and so do the websites inside the tools (the OSRS Wiki switches to its own dark look).
- Text size for the app's tools, and for web pages (Wiki, DPS Calculator, XP Calculator, GE Prices and Shooting Star Tracker).
- Bubble: size, whether it fades when you're not using it, how long to hold it to open the menu, and whether it vibrates.
- Windows: how wide tool windows open in landscape, and a button to put every window back to its normal size and place.
- Tools in the menu: untick the tools you don't use to keep the menu short.
- Updates: turn off the check for a new version when the app opens.
Improvements
- Windows and the bubble now stay clear of the navigation bar (the home and back buttons) as well as the status bar, so they can always be dragged. They go back where you left them when the bars hide.
- With Match phone, a dark mode change waits until you close the tool you're using, so it won't stop a ToA Watch or a puzzle guide.
- Tapping the bubble no longer opens a tool you've hidden from the menu.
- Behind-the-scenes tidying of the code.
