3.2.0

  • Hand what arrives to an AI agent on your computer (desktop only): one rule decides which kinds go, with a prompt you can edit and the command that runs. Nothing runs until you turn it on.
  • An Obsidian command can also run on each item; it is independent of the AI.
  • The settings page is regrouped around what you do: receiving, handling after arrival, devices, advanced.
  • A picture whose download fails keeps its note and is not sent to the agent; every network wait now has an end, so one stalled download cannot hold the sync.
  • The pairing code box links to where a new device gets dropit.

Please update. Nothing that arrives, and no write that fails, makes notes pile up anymore — and text from other devices or web pages never runs as code.

  • No more duplicate notes. A new note is written in one go, so a write that fails (a locked file, a name the system refuses) is simply tried again instead of leaving a half-written note that each retry copied. A name the system won't take falls back to dropit <number>.md.
  • Templater users: if Templater runs new notes as templates (Trigger Templater on new file creation), <% in what arrives is written with an invisible zero-width space, so a web page title can't run as a template. Everyone else gets the text exactly as sent.
  • Real-time behaves when something is wrong: it never retries faster while the service is unavailable, catches up after reconnecting, and says so when your account has too many live connections.
  • Names that work everywhere: no control characters, nothing Windows refuses, long names cut without breaking an emoji; note titles drop quotes and brackets instead of turning them into _.
  • A clearer name and description — dropit (sync and send anything to phone and PC) — and the README now covers synced vaults.

  • Pairing this vault again after reinstalling the plugin still takes the earlier pairing's place — now recognized by a random ID kept in Obsidian's local storage for this vault, not by reading your computer's name, user name or hardware.
  • The README says when the plugin looks at note front matter (only when an item comes back a second time) and that it only ever writes the pairing code to the clipboard.
  • Release files are attested: gh attestation verify main.js --repo smart-kits/dropit-obsidian.

If you paired with 3.1.0 and later reinstall the plugin, that one re-pairing may take a new device slot; remove the old entry under Settings → dropit → Devices.

  • Pairing again — after reinstalling, or on a fresh copy of the vault — takes the earlier pairing's place instead of using another device slot.
  • Unpair removes this vault from your account, freeing its slot, and forgets its sign-in.
  • The README now says what the plugin needs: a dropit account (free), which limits depend on your plan, and the one service it talks to.

Install: Settings → Community plugins → Browse → dropit (once listed), or put main.js, manifest.json and styles.css into .obsidian/plugins/dropit/.
