We have several apps that use systemd as their starting mechanism. How do we view logs for these applications?
systemd
Applications that start via systemd log to STDOUT. To view these logs you can use journalctl.
STDOUT
journalctl
If you're on the server you can view logs for the app by:
journalctl -u service
The above will output all of the logs for your application that journalctl is aware of.
You can follow along similar to tail -f with:
tail -f
journalctl -u service -f
If you wish to follow logs on a remote server without SSHing in first you can use the above command as a command for ssh:
ssh deploy@server -C "journalctl -u service -f"
