CSV Preflight v0.5.0 — free GitHub Action

@softpeanut softpeanut released this 27 Aug 12:17
340b31b

This release adds a free composite GitHub Action for checking one generic UTF-8 CSV up to 10 MiB without uploading it.

- uses: softpeanut/csv-preflight@v0.5.0
  with:
    path: data/import.csv

The Action writes its default normalized CSV and issue report under the runner temporary directory and preserves the CLI contract: clean input exits 0; detected issues or rejected input exits 1; invocation/runtime errors exit 2. Pin to the full release commit SHA when immutable third-party code is required:

- uses: softpeanut/csv-preflight@340b31bb16a4c39463be3378270ea6c628aa5461

The complete workflow guide shows path-scoped triggers, read-only permissions, and how to retain diagnostic artifacts after a failed check.

The browser checker, CLI, and Action are free. The separate completed Pro batch edition remains optional under the published product terms. A separate $99 fixed-scope setup is available for one public or sanitized repository; its scope, exclusions, payment, cancellation, and refund rules are published before any fit check or payment.

CSV Preflight v0.4.1 — corrected standalone CLI

Corrects the free CLI distribution so the downloaded cli.mjs is truly self-contained and runs without a companion file. It also resolves the executable path through symlinked directories such as macOS /tmp. Live-download execution was verified on the published messy CSV fixture. Exit 1 and both normalized/report outputs matched the documented contract.\n\nNeed batch, Shopify profiles, ZIP, or JSON automation? Review CSV Preflight Pro at https://softpeanut.github.io/csv-preflight/pro-terms.html and use its structured order link. An optional Lightning tip to softpeanut@stacker.news buys no product, support, or import guarantee.

Superseded by v0.4.1. The v0.4.0 asset imported a companion csv.mjs file and is not a standalone download. Use the corrected v0.4.1 release instead. The repository source at v0.4.0 remains available for audit.
