SpringBrand v1.2.4
SpringBrand 1.2.3 — Product README and Repository Icon
Docs-only release following the product README overhaul (#105).
- Rewrite README as a product introduction for marketplace listings: positioning, problem, advantages, examples, covered capabilities, and a one-prompt install section.
- Add a Simplified Chinese README (
README.zh-CN.md) mirroring the English page, with a language switcher in both directions. - Add the SpringBrand app icon (
assets/springbrand-icon.png) to the README header. - Bump
VERSIONand package manifests to 1.2.3 and synchronize Canonical Skills with their Distribution Mirrors; no Skill behavior changes.

This tag is for internal evaluation and is not a production release.
SpringBrand 1.2.2 — API-key Setup and Unified MCP Skills
Stable release adopting API-key setup and unified MCP skills.
- Adopt runtime API-key setup across host installation guidance, with host-native OAuth retained where supported (#99, #100).
- Unify the three capability domains (Platform, Action API, Connector) on a single MCP entry exposing five shared Meta Tools; Domain Skills preserve business boundaries through discovered operation contracts rather than registered tool name prefixes.
- Point the development installation guide and README to the verified
v1.2.1-dev.2prerelease. - Preserve MCP App UI image presentation, Skill version synchronization and synchronized distribution mirrors.
Production identity: springbrand / SpringBrand, version 1.2.2, MCP https://connector.springbrand.ai/mcp. This release contains no development MCP identity in its shipping manifests.
Validation: all local test/validation scripts passed, including production identity and WorkBuddy release packaging. PR CI passed, including package-contract and native Codex CLI installation. SpringBrand Dev v1.2.1-dev.2 — API-key-first MCP setup
Development prerelease based on the API-key-first setup and unified five Meta Tool Skill migration.
- Runtime API key configuration for the selected development environment; no proactive OAuth.
- Bounded installation verification: authoritative identity check and configured MCP service health check.
- Generic migration guidance for existing OAuth-backed entries with duplicate prevention and redaction.
- Four Domain Skills migrated to the unified Meta Tools with regenerated Cursor and WorkBuddy mirrors.
- Production installation and production identity remain unchanged.
This release is for development testing only. Complete the API key installation flow from INSTALL.dev.md before functional testing.
SpringBrand 1.2.1 — GTM and First-use Workflows
Stable release of SpringBrand's GTM and first-use workflow improvements.
- Add the fifth Canonical Skill,
springbrand-gtm, for substantive marketing and growth requests, with existing Platform, Action API and Connector domain routing. - Improve English keyword discovery while retaining structured task requirements and supported discovery/execution associations.
- Show first-install Welcome guidance and four example tasks at the first setup handoff, including incomplete setup; ordinary updates do not repeat Welcome.
- Automatically add clearly suitable, verified-free Plugins and continue after successful addition. Paid/unknown pricing, downstream API costs and host approvals retain their rules.
- Discover authorized GitHub, Gmail and Google Search Console operations from runtime inventory.
- Preserve MCP App UI image presentation, Skill version synchronization and synchronized distribution mirrors.
Production identity: springbrand / SpringBrand, version 1.2.1, MCP https://connector.springbrand.ai/mcp. This release contains no development MCP identity in its shipping manifests.
Validation: all 19 local test/validation scripts passed, including production identity and WorkBuddy release packaging. PR CI passed, including package-contract and native Codex CLI installation. Live provider availability, desktop OAuth and end-to-end GTM/Welcome/free-Plugin task behavior are not claimed verified by these checks. No backend service deployment is included.

07573fc8af7220276ba311bbb49a291d54aac5de6535b5afc8a38ec3230627b2 - Production installation guide
Isolated WorkBuddy/macOS native install, enable, version and asset-hash verification, disable, uninstall and marketplace removal passed with GitHub and direct outbound bypass blocked. Existing pinned installations do not update automatically. The moving production-channel alias remains disabled.
Production tag CI passed, including native Codex CLI installation. R2 publication and public-byte verification passed.
Matching development test release: v1.2.1-dev.1, generated directly from this tag on an isolated branch and connected exclusively to the development MCP gateway.
Production installation links now select v1.2.1 via PR #98. Public installation-document publication and byte verification passed; main retains production identity. Both release tags remain unchanged.
SpringBrand Dev 1.2.1-dev.1 — Test Build from v1.2.1
Development test build generated directly from the immutable production release v1.2.1, commit a31e45ae08cdb10746c011f45ba8ba69ba78d276.
Includes the same five Canonical Skills and GTM, discovery, Welcome, free-Plugin and Connector workflows as production v1.2.1. Only distribution identity/version and development installation references differ.
Generated on the isolated codex/release-v1.2.1-dev.1 branch using:
python3 scripts/build_dev_variant.py --version 1.2.1-dev.1Development identity: springbrand-dev / SpringBrand Dev, version 1.2.1-dev.1, MCP https://devconnector.springbrand.ai/mcp. All inline MCP manifests exclusively select the development gateway. These identity rewrites are not merged into main; production remains springbrand / SpringBrand at https://connector.springbrand.ai/mcp.
Development installation and update guide
All 19 local validation script invocations completed without failure, with production-only release-package cases skipped on the dev checkout. Skill version/mirror and diff checks passed. Live OAuth, provider availability and GTM/Welcome/free-Plugin business execution remain runtime acceptance work. This release does not deploy backend services or publish a development package to the production R2 channel.
Dev tag CI passed, including package-contract and native Codex CLI installation. The dev commit parent was verified to equal the production v1.2.1 tag exactly.
SpringBrand Dev 1.2.0-beta.12-dev.7 — Automatic Free Plugin Addition
Based on the latest dev.6 release commit 71bd034, with the verified-free Plugin addition change merged as aaca01c.
The Platform Skill now adds a clearly suitable, verified-free Plugin to the user's collection and continues to its distribution and business workflow without separate selection or add confirmation. An unadded account state alone no longer causes a fitting Plugin to be skipped or classified as requiring purchase.
Paid Plugins retain their confirmation and acquisition flow. Unknown pricing is not treated as free. The Agent checks the add response before use and stops on an outstanding acquisition requirement. The guide also corrects the price source: Plugin detail returns price, while add returns acquisition status. Downstream Action/API costs and host-enforced approval policies still apply; the MCP add capability remains risk: high.
Preserves dev.6's five Canonical Skills, GTM entry and routing, initial-installation Welcome behavior, structured intent and keyword discovery, Connector guidance, and MCP App UI image presentation. No backend deployment or production-document publication is included.
Plugin: springbrand-dev / SpringBrand Dev, version 1.2.0-beta.12-dev.7. MCP: https://devconnector.springbrand.ai/mcp.
Development installation / update guide
Generated with python3 scripts/build_dev_variant.py --version 1.2.0-beta.12-dev.7 on an isolated release branch. All 19 local validation scripts completed without failure: 18 passed and the production-only WorkBuddy ZIP suite intentionally skipped. Skill version/mirror and diff checks passed. Actual free-Plugin addition and business-task execution remain for user acceptance testing; this release does not claim that host approval prompts are eliminated.
This is a new immutable tag. The existing dev.6 tag is unchanged.
GitHub tag validation passed, including package-contract and native Codex CLI installation checks.
SpringBrand Dev 1.2.0-beta.12-dev.6 — GTM + Initial Welcome
Development prerelease v1.2.0-beta.12-dev.6, republished at the user's explicit request on 2026-09-10 to apply the updated Welcome PRD (revision 27). Includes all previous dev.6 GTM features and the dev.4 test functionality. Issues #96 and #97.
Initial installation Welcome
Welcome now appears once at the first installation result report or request for user action, before waiting for verification or a new conversation. This covers installation success, pending OAuth, required restart/new session, failure/blockers, and an existing user task.
The Agent reports the real setup status and next step first, then shows Welcome and the four example tasks. When setup is incomplete, the prompt introduction becomes “Once setup is complete, try a task with free credits—copy a prompt below.” Welcome does not imply successful installation. Ordinary updates and later replies in the same installation conversation do not show it again.
The rule is placed before routing/preflight/install branches in INSTALL.md and INSTALL.dev.md, and is referenced at the beginning of the Claude, Cursor and WorkBuddy guides. No new Skill, persistent welcome flag, balance lookup or per-prompt Welcome Hook was added. The four prompts and general free-credit template remain unchanged.
Included GTM and existing functionality
- Five Canonical Skills: springbrand-gtm, Ask SpringBrand, Platform, Action API and Connector.
- Implicit GTM entry for substantive growth requests that do not name SpringBrand; runtime discovery selects professional Plugins, API services or authorized connected-system capabilities.
- GitHub/Gmail/GSC Connector guidance uses the reviewed rollout assumption and actual runtime authorization; no provider deployment is part of this release.
- All five Skill bodies, their mirrors, Hooks/Rules, MCP manifests, structured intent/keyword discovery and MCP image UI behavior are byte-identical to the previous dev.6 commit.
Install and test
Development installation / update guide
Plugin identity: springbrand-dev / SpringBrand Dev, version 1.2.0-beta.12-dev.6. MCP: springbrand-dev → https://devconnector.springbrand.ai/mcp.
This is an explicitly requested same-version replacement. The tag moved from 5560b489a6a2761f606b5d269a5f0c103e491756 to the replacement commit listed below. Previously cached checkouts or source archives may still contain the old documents: refresh the source through the host-native lifecycle and verify the fetched guide begins with Initial installation response before the installation overview/preflight. A version label alone cannot distinguish the two builds. Do not patch Plugin caches.
To test Welcome, use a first-install conversation. An ordinary update should intentionally omit Welcome. Actual native Welcome delivery remains a dev acceptance test; static checks do not prove the model will render it.
Validation and scope
All 19 local validation scripts completed without failure: 18 passed, and the production-only WorkBuddy ZIP suite intentionally skipped on the dev checkout. Updated checks cover early loading, independent host paths, incomplete status, existing-task delivery, once-per-conversation behavior and update exclusion. Package/version/mirror checks and diff checks passed.
Only the five installation documents and their regression test changed in this replacement. Main, production distribution, other version tags and user-installed plugin state were not modified. This GitHub prerelease does not publish the production R2 installation documents or deploy backend services.
Replacement commit: 71bd03484a83966e144478899062ed05dc4cd6d1.
Replacement-tag CI passed, including package-contract and native Codex CLI install checks, on 71bd03484a83966e144478899062ed05dc4cd6d1. All five published installation documents, the GTM Skill and MCP manifest were fetched back and verified byte-for-byte.
SpringBrand 1.2.0-beta.12 — MCP Image UI and Skill Version Synchronization
Changes
- Prefer MCP App UI for successful Action image results, with existing attachment and saved image URL fallbacks. Presentation failure never authorizes re-execution or duplicate billing (#93).
- Stamp Skill metadata from VERSION and synchronize Canonical Skills with Cursor and WorkBuddy Distribution Mirrors.
- Enforce production identity for main and all main-targeting PRs, including forks; extend release and image-presentation checks.
- Production identity: springbrand / SpringBrand, https://connector.springbrand.ai/mcp.
Validation
All 18 local regression scripts, package/version checks, PR CI, and merged-main CI passed, including native Codex CLI installation. Backend deployment is proceeding separately by operator decision; this release does not claim production image end-to-end verification.
R2 distribution
- Immutable WorkBuddy ZIP: https://plugin.springbrand.ai/releases/v1.2.0-beta.12/workbuddy/springbrand-workbuddy.zip
- Package manifest: https://plugin.springbrand.ai/releases/v1.2.0-beta.12/workbuddy/manifest.json
- ZIP SHA-256: aec6a0c7c8713ec1ad1b9847ff59ea57350fd811023581f82d9d0b07514500d3
- Universal guide: https://plugin.springbrand.ai/INSTALL.md
- WorkBuddy guide: https://plugin.springbrand.ai/INSTALL.workbuddy.md
The immutable ZIP matches the published manifest. Isolated WorkBuddy/macOS native install, enable, version and asset-hash verification, disable, uninstall and marketplace removal passed with GitHub and direct outbound bypass blocked. Public installation guides select beta.12 and all four documents plus their provenance manifest were verified byte-for-byte after publication.
Existing pinned installations do not advance automatically. The moving production-channel alias remains disabled. No desktop OAuth or production image end-to-end result is claimed. Matching development prerelease: v1.2.0-beta.12-dev.1, generated from this production tag on an isolated release branch.
