MATPredict v0.6.2
Highlights
- Browser version on GitHub Pages. The detection pipeline runs in your browser on a genome you choose (plain or gzipped FASTA). Nothing is uploaded: Python runs in Pyodide and the search tools run as WebAssembly (miniprot, exonerate, MMseqs2, LOSAT, pyhmmer). The page shows the results table, a locus figure with flanks, the sequence with the locus highlighted, and the report. It is experimental: it has not been checked on every platform or against the full benchmark. For published results, use the command-line tool.
- sexM/sexP pairs are decided on profile bitscore. When two mutually exclusive idiomorph genes overlap, each gene's own pyhmmer score against its own idiomorph's profile decides, and the higher score wins. The losing gene is kept in the record (
lost_to), not drawn as a called gene, and is shown muted in the figure and table. This replaces the earlier alignment-score rule for families that have a classifier. Note: this changes a documented curator ruling (2026-09-26). - The locus verdict scores winners only. A gene set aside by a pair decision no longer contributes its protein to the locus's Minus/Plus verdict. On the 9-genome comparison panel the calls were unchanged; two Mucoromycota margins moved by under 2 bits, and the GFF output was identical.
- Pages deploys from the release tag. The site is rebuilt from the tagged commit by the
pages.ymlworkflow.
