  • Display artifacting reduced by cable length, but not eliminated.

  • Planer testing drift between 14-15 cm no issue.

  • Intermittent exit code 74 uploading to R4 from Windows laptop.

    • Double reset button is one fix.
  • 6690 steps is 1 cm. 3 cm minimum, 15 cm maximum.

Some notes from discussion of all menus

e-stop

# is unconditional software e-stop

calibration

choice of linear/angular calibration determines whether linear or angular units are shown in all menus

linear calibration

manually move to 1 cm, 2 cm, 5 cm, then use keys at each interval to store set point.

while you hold up and down, it moves (no set increment)

do math

display margin of error somewhere

cur pos and new pos show known distance valuese

power on

start on main for degrees/linear

main degrees

right - switch sign

POS memory

can enter value into keypad

fine tuning

test moving up and down by calibration increment of cm or deg

  • next priority is linear calibration on hardware
  • second priority is angular calibration

calibration work

discussed calibration work

linear calibration

  • linear calibration modified to redo max point, if feasible
  • may need to be able to edit all calibration points independently (later)

angular calibration

  • 90 degree point is the first calibration
  • need hardware test soon to understand if 2-point steps per increment strategy works well
