First Dive
Let's log your first dive in Submersion! This quick tutorial will get you familiar with the basics.
When you first launch Submersion, you'll be asked to create a diver profile.
- Enter your name
- Optionally add your email and phone
- Tap Create Profile
After creating your profile, you'll land on the Dives tab - your main dive log.
Tap the + Log Dive button (floating action button) to create a new dive.
The dive entry form has several sections. For your first dive, focus on the basics:

| Date & Time | When the dive started |
| Max Depth | Your maximum depth (in meters or feet) |
| Duration | Bottom time in minutes |
| Field | Purpose |

| Dive Site | Select or create a site |
| Water Temperature | For your records and stats |
| Visibility | Excellent, Good, Moderate, Poor |
Tap the Dive Site field to select a location:
- If you have no sites yet, tap + Add New Site
- Enter the site name (e.g., "Blue Corner, Palau")
- Optionally set the country and region
- Tap Save
Scroll down to the Tanks section:
- Tap Add Tank (or edit the default tank)
- Set volume (e.g., 12L or 80 cu ft)
- Enter start pressure and end pressure
- If diving nitrox, adjust the O2% (default is 21% for air)
Scroll to the Notes section to add any observations:
- Marine life you saw
- Conditions you experienced
- Memorable moments
- Things to remember for next time
Tap Save in the top right corner.
Your dive is now logged!

If you share a device with another diver, you can create multiple profiles:
- Go to Settings > Divers
- Tap + Add Diver
- Switch between profiles from the same menu
Each diver has their own separate dive log, sites, and gear.
