swift-codex 0.5.0

Choose a tag to compare

@showxu showxu released this 05 Oct 09:50
v0.5.0
94df958

Added

  • Typed experimental thread and turn start parameters with stable response contracts, presence-sensitive appearance and service-tier updates, plugin reconciliation, Bedrock discovery and setup, and a typed current-time server callback.
  • Value-free, bounded observations for unhandled typed inbound methods. Unknown server requests receive a method-not-found response without closing the session.
  • Unix-domain WebSocket clients through NIO, and bounded, redacted stderr diagnostics when the App Server process exits unsuccessfully.

Fixed

  • Generated object-union branches keep shared properties and required fields, including MCP elicitation scope and notification timestamps.
  • Client WebSocket text and pong frames are masked, and typed callbacks bind to their receiving connection and admission generation, including reused request IDs.

Changed

  • swift-codex is now licensed under the Apache License 2.0 with the Swift Runtime Library Exception. Releases up to 0.4.1 remain available under the MIT License.
  • The typed callback enum and transport error enums gain cases, and corrected generated models require protocol-mandated shared fields. These public changes make this a minor release during 0.x.

See validation.json for source, dependency and validation provenance.

swift-codex 0.4.1

Choose a tag to compare

@showxu showxu released this 29 Sep 05:58
v0.4.1
35e4a3d

Fixed

  • Pin MCP 0.13.1-computer-mcp.1 so unrepresentable integer wire values fail explicitly instead of being rounded through a floating-point fallback. Exact supported integers and finite fractions remain supported.
  • Gate Windows product builds on the documented eight supported products while retaining individual build-audit results for the three networking products with unavailable upstream dependencies.

The public API and pinned Codex protocol schema are unchanged. Native binary checks cover App Server and legacy MCP integration; they do not assert model authentication. See validation.json for source, dependency and validation provenance.

v0.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@showxu showxu released this 29 Sep 01:10
v0.4.0
73442b9

Native Windows Codex execution and bounded transport lifecycle support.

  • Add native Windows process/pipe ownership for Exec, App Server stdio and CodexMCP, including executable/environment resolution and joined descendant cleanup.
  • Add stdio input completion, frame bounds and joined termination observations; bound buffering and request correlation while retaining duplex progress.
  • Adopt the exact computer-mcp/swift-sdk transport release 0.13.0-computer-mcp.1 for Windows stdio and complete POSIX frame serialization.

The new platform capability and public Stdio lifecycle API advance the minor version during 0.x. All eleven public products retain their macOS 14 boundary. Windows x86_64 builds pass for eight products. NIO, Vapor and Hummingbird transports remain unavailable with their pinned upstream dependencies; URLSession compilation does not establish Windows WebSocket runtime acceptance. See the product support matrix.

Validation: 333 tests / 52 suites, both macOS build systems and hosted Swift toolchains, 20 constrained-pool cases, schema/dependency/API/format checks and eleven DocC targets. Native Windows process ownership passes 28 tests in debug and release; the shipping MCP graph passes 2 tests in each configuration with Codex 0.139.0. Native macOS App Server tests pass 3 cases with Codex 0.154.0 and legacy MCP passes 2 with 0.139.0. The complete Windows product audit retains its three unsupported-dependency failures.

These are library, native process and protocol checks. They do not establish authenticated model execution or a downstream signed plugin/App release. Codex executables and credentials are not included. Published validation metadata binds source, dependency identity and evidence scope.

swift-codex 0.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@showxu showxu released this 27 Sep 13:12
v0.3.0
bb47844

Added

  • An ordered raw inbound mode combines notifications and server requests in
    native wire order while retaining connection-owned, once-only request handles.
    Existing typed and split raw streams keep their current behavior.

Changed

  • InboundMessageMode gains the rawOrdered case. Downstream exhaustive
    switches must handle it; this source compatibility change requires a minor
    release during 0.x.

Validation: Release Gate, Swift Package, and Real Codex Binary. The signed tag and a fresh remote-tag checkout passed repository, schema, dependency, API, build, default/native test, and documentation gates.

Swift Codex 0.2.2

Choose a tag to compare

@showxu showxu released this 21 Sep 05:54
v0.2.2
63913b7

Swift Codex 0.2.2 fixes MCP request and process cleanup ordering: immediate cancellation follows its tool request, and client teardown keeps pipes owned until transport disconnection and subprocess termination complete.

The 0.2 series aligns App Server protocol models with Codex 0.154.0, preserves experimental and unknown fields through lossless interfaces, and adds bounded Exec output with explicit truncation metadata. Blocking Exec pipe operations run outside Swift’s cooperative executor. The separate legacy MCP client is validated with Codex 0.139.0, which exposes mcp-server.

All eleven SwiftPM library products remain available. See the changelog for changes and compatibility details.

swift-codex 0.1.2

Choose a tag to compare

@showxu showxu released this 16 Aug 19:33
v0.1.2
0bdd92a

Added

  • Add CodexExecRequestOptions.ignoreUserConfig, mapping to the upstream codex exec --ignore-user-config flag while retaining CODEX_HOME authentication.

The signed tag resolves to 0bdd92a53fa3b91cd5fb8934eb11c7878a6e022b. The Release Gate and Real Codex Binary workflows passed for this exact ref.

swift-codex 0.1.1

Choose a tag to compare

@showxu showxu released this 08 Aug 18:26
v0.1.1
e2d745c

swift-codex v0.1.1 is the first supported public release.

Highlights

  • 11 Swift library products for Codex thread/turn semantics, direct exec, MCP, generated AppServer protocol/runtime/client, and stdio, URLSession, NIO, Vapor, and Hummingbird transports.
  • Stable and experimental AppServer schemas pinned deterministically to Codex rust-v0.147.0.
  • Exact JSON-RPC request ID and number fidelity, bounded diagnostic errors, stderr draining, duplicate-ID rejection, and deterministic cancellation/close cleanup.
  • MIT-licensed original Swift sources with embedded Apache-2.0 vendor license and third-party notices.
  • Swift 6.2 baseline and current hosted Swift verification, all 11 DocC catalogs, API baseline, schema/dependency/repository gates, and real Codex 0.147.0 AppServer/MCP integration.

Installation

.package(
  url: "https://github.com/swift-library/swift-codex.git",
  .upToNextMinor(from: "0.1.0")
)

The signed v0.1.0 tag remains immutable but intentionally has no GitHub Release because its post-tag workflow exposed a checkout-time annotated-tag verification defect. v0.1.1 fixes that release gate and supersedes the unpublished tag without moving it.
