SingularityCE 4.6.0 is expected to be the final release managed by Sylabs. As always, the code remains available under an open source license. The 4.6.0 release also incorporates code that was previously part of SingularityPRO only. However, security, bugfix, and feature development will no longer be performed by Sylabs.
New Features
SingularityCE now includes the following functionality that was previously limited to SingularityPRO:
- A customizable log-plugin using templates.
- An enterprise-plugin to query / manage Singularity Enterprise instances.
- Native hooks functionality, to allow configurable external tasks to be run on container startup.
- A 'trusted bind paths' configuration option, which if set to 'yes' disables the remount of bind mounts configured in
singularity.conf, so that they maintain the same mount flags as on the host.MS_NOSUIDandMS_NODEVwill not be forced. setuid execution is still blocked byPR_SET_NO_NEW_PRIVS.
