Patter 0.6.6

Patter now checks recording permissions on launch and offers a compact setup dialog when access is missing.

  • Allow microphone and computer-audio access before recording.
  • Open the matching macOS settings when access was denied.
  • Include Calendar and notification access when those features are enabled.
  • Recheck when returning from settings, or choose Later to dismiss setup until the next launch.

Permission checks never start a recording or create a conversation. Unpackaged development builds skip launch setup.

Validated with 107 automated tests, app and documentation builds, packaged signature/entitlement checks, and browser interactions using simulated permission responses. Live macOS consent and capture still need a supervised check.

Personal preview for Apple Silicon Macs on macOS 15+. No Apple notarization. See the release page for installation instructions and verification limits.

Download the DMG, drag Patter to Applications, eject the DMG, then open Patter from Applications. This personal build is ad-hoc signed, without Apple notarization. If macOS blocks it, use the app-specific Open Anyway option in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

Updates: Settings → General → Updates → Install and restart. Existing 0.1.0 installations need one manual replacement. Libraries remain local to each Mac. Live capture and real model inference still need a supervised test before relying on Patter for important meetings.
