Version 2 - Preview 1
Been working on this for a while. Totally new GUI, lots of internals rewritten. Also now with collision viewing, which is what prompted this preview.
Version 0.7.2
Once again I am updating this version rather than working on the rewrite...
- Exported vertex colours are now halved to prevent issues with values > 1.0.
- You will need to double them back up in your shaders or your textures will not have the correct intensity.
- You can now input the folder to export to.
- The exporter now exports to a <map_name> folder inside the above folder.
- You can now select which format to export the mesh data in
- This list is dumped straight out of assimp at runtime, not all of them work.
- I strongly recommend sticking with fbx unless you really can't.
Also I updated the version of assimp, not that it matters to anyone else.
Version 0.7.1
A much belated release that fixes the following issues:
- Create
exportdirectory when it does not exist. - Fix (some) depth issues with transparent objects
- Repeating textures now repeat in the correct direction
- Texture scrolling ("animation") now happens at the same speed as in game.
Also updated to vs2022 and ImGUI 1.87.
Version 0.7.0
I'm currently rewriting most of the code to be more flexible, maintainable, and extensible. This is taking a lot longer than expected, so I decided to make a "maintenance" release to fix some small gripes while working on the rewrite. This rapidly turned into a large number of features being squeezed in to the old code, not all in the best ways. Oh well.
Changes
- Camera zoom (on scroll wheel) now works
- Objects which feature coincident triangles (overlays) now render correctly
- More texture formats are now supported by the loader (
IT_A1BGR5specifically) - Gui style has been changed to a light style and the font has been replaced with a similar font to the kh2 system font.
- 'Light Mode' related complaints should be directed to your optometrist.
- Depth based smoothstep fog has been implemented.
- You can alter the color, start and end of fog, along with the clear color, the field of view and the near/far clipping depth
- PVD files can now be loaded to set the above values.
- The internal PMP/PMO representations have been updated with the latest knowledge.
- Texture scrolling is now implemented.
- PMO mesh attributes are now supported, so two-sided and transparent/semi-transparent meshes are now handled better.
- Meshes are now rendered in two passes, solving many transparency ordering issues.
- Back face culling is now enabled by default
- There should be less texture sampling errors at the edges of textures now.
- The viewer should crash less when loading invalid/incomplete PMP files.
Version 0.6.0
This version adds rudimentary FBX export capability.
At present the exporter only exports to .\resources\export, so be sure to move the files from one map before exporting another if you don't want things getting mixed up. I hope to improve this in the next version.
Also there seems to be a slight memory leak in the exporter so if you want to export lots of maps I suggest restarting the viewer every so often.
Version 0.5.3
This release fixes some problems with alpha, although not the ordering issues.
It also exposes more of the raw data in the UI although this remains an all-over-the-place affair.
Version 0.5.2
This version makes the buttons in the file menu work, so you can now exit via that menu and you can also load a new .pmp file without having to relaunch the viewer.
It also fixes parts of certain maps rendering inside-out due to negative scaling.
