🚀 v2.0.0 – Refactor & Rebirth
mshash has been completely rewritten and refocused.
The original version (v1.x) was a multi-purpose tool with brute-force hash cracking, Caesar cipher support, and other experimental logic. Starting from v2.0.0, the project now becomes a clean, lightweight, multi-stage hashing and encoding CLI tool.
🔄 What's new in v2.0.0?
- ✅ Fully refactored codebase
- ✅ Multi-stage hashing logic (
md5 -> sha512 -> base64) - ✅ New algorithm support:
- SHA-3 variants
- Keccak
- PHPASS (WordPress-style)
- ✅ Language detection for bilingual help (🇧🇷 pt_BR, 🇺🇸 en_US)
- ✅ Safe password input with
getpass - ✅ No brute-force, Caesar, or legacy code
📌 Notes
-
Algorithms are applied in reverse order (just like nested function calls):
base64(sha512(md5("text"))) -
Use
-t"text"to pass input via CLI or omit to use interactive input.
📁 Directory structure simplified
/main.py– CLI entrypoint/cypher.py– Algorithm engine/lang.py– Multilingual help messages/bin/– Precompiled executable (PyInstaller)/requirements.txt– For installation
📜 License
Now under GNU LGPL-3.0, keeping it open-source and freedom-focused.
🧠 Legacy
The full-featured legacy version is preserved in the legacy branch and tagged as v1.0.0
