Release list
ScreenFocus 0.5.5
ScreenFocus now preserves the destination display’s existing window stacking. When the window beneath the crossing point is overlapped by a higher usable window, focus goes to that topmost overlapping window instead of raising the larger background window over it.
Separate side-by-side windows still follow the pointer normally. The fix uses window geometry and front-to-back metadata only; it captures no pixels and requires no new permission.
ScreenFocus 0.5.4
ScreenFocus now automatically follows the rounded outer corners of the built-in Mac display. The rounded screen perimeter and camera-housing detour are drawn as one continuous, seamless path.
External displays keep square corners to match their physical panels. There is no new setting or additional permission.
ScreenFocus 0.5.3
ScreenFocus now automatically detects the camera housing on a built-in Mac display and wraps the full-display highlight around it with a smooth, rounded contour.
External and non-notched displays keep the existing seamless straight border. There is no new setting and no additional permission.
ScreenFocus 0.5.2
ScreenFocus is now open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0.
- Adds Mozilla’s official, unmodified MPL 2.0 license text
- Adds SPDX MPL-2.0 notices to every Swift and build-script file
- Adds an Open Source License link to About
- Clarifies that the EULA applies to official prebuilt releases without limiting MPL source rights
- Keeps the ScreenFocus name, icon, screenshots, and branding reserved
- Embeds the current LICENSE and EULA in every packaged app
- Refreshes the README About screenshot
Verified with 23 passing tests on macOS.
ScreenFocus 0.5.1
A small visual polish update for the menu-bar tray.
- Replaces the bordered Pause/Resume control with a quiet filled pill
- Removes the unwanted coral keyboard-focus outline
- Keeps the control clickable while excluding it from keyboard focus
Verified with 23 passing tests on macOS.
ScreenFocus 0.5.0
ScreenFocus now stays out of the way when a second display is not connected.
- Adds a default-on “Pause when only one display is connected” setting
- Automatically resumes when a second display reconnects
- Shows Active or Disabled with a short reason in the tray
- Moves Pause/Resume into the status row
- Hides irrelevant Accessibility prompts while automatically disabled
- Refreshes the README menu-bar screenshot for the new layout
Verified with 23 passing tests on macOS.
ScreenFocus 0.4.4
ScreenFocus now starts with your Mac by default:
- Launch at Login is enabled on first launch.
- The Settings toggle follows the real macOS Login Items state.
- A previously stored off preference remains off.
- Launch registration errors are shown directly in Settings.
ScreenFocus 0.4.3
A complete app-icon refresh:
- New polished graphite-and-coral macOS icon.
- True transparent canvas around the squircle.
- Crisp generated artwork at every required macOS icon size, from 16 px to 1024 px.
- README now uses the same transparent production master.
- Release packaging now rebuilds the icon automatically from the master asset.
ScreenFocus 0.4.2
Fixes two tray-window polish issues:
- Removes the distracting initial focus ring from tray controls.
- Makes the menu-bar status icon update immediately after Resume.
The app remains signed with the same local identity, so the existing Accessibility approval should continue to work.
ScreenFocus 0.4.1
A small tray and packaging refinement.
- Replaces the tray toggle with a compact Pause/Resume button
- Removes the status subtitle below ScreenFocus
- Verifies the app icon is present before creating a release
- Re-registers the installed bundle so macOS refreshes its icon
Validated with 13 passing tests.
