Internos 2.0.0-beta.9
One fix from beta-8 testing:
- Cleanup no longer answers your questions. A dictated question ("are ya here for school, love?") was coming back as its answer ("Yes, I am here for school.") — the model treated the dictation as a message addressed to it. The prompt now states the text is never addressed to the model, and validation enforces it structurally: a dictated question must stay a question, and answer-shaped openings (Yes,/No,/Sure,) you didn't say are rejected. As always, rejected output means you get your exact words back.

Internos 2.0.0-beta.8
One fix from beta-7 testing:
- Model refusals can no longer replace your dictation. Mild profanity ("You bloody rippah!") made the cleanup model return its refusal as text — "as a chatbot created by Apple, I cannot use vulgar language" — which got inserted instead of your words. Validation now rejects refusal-phrase outputs the speaker didn't say, and cleanup output must share at least half its words with what you actually said. Rejected output falls back to your exact words (plus filler removal). Command mode gets the same refusal guard, minus the word-overlap rule so translations still work. Dictate as much Strine as you like.

Internos 2.0.0-beta.7
- "Scratch that" now speaks five more languages. With recognition set to a non-English language, the English undo phrase was effectively unusable (the recognizer hears it as target-language noise). Provisional phrases: Spanish "borra eso" / "tacha eso", French "efface ça", German "streich das" / "lösch das", Portuguese "apaga isso", Italian "cancella quello" — same rules as English (utterance must end with the phrase, up to two lead-in words), and English still works everywhere. Translations are provisional; feedback on more natural phrasing is welcome.

Internos 2.0.0-beta.6
One fix from beta-5 language testing:
- Non-English dictation is now inserted exactly as recognized. With recognition set to Spanish and cleanup enabled, the on-device model — instructed in English — was translating dictation to English, hit-or-miss per utterance. Cleanup prompts are validated for English only, so non-English recognition languages now skip the model pass entirely (the Processing pane says so). Your Spanish test sentences will come through in Spanish, diacritics and all.

Internos 2.0.0-beta.5
One fix from beta-4 testing:
- "Scratch that" now accepts natural lead-ins. "Actually, scratch that." / "No, scratch that." / "oh wait, scratch that" all trigger the undo — anything ending in "scratch that" with at most two lead-in words. Longer sentences containing the phrase ("I told him he should scratch that") remain ordinary dictation. Reminder: the undo removes your previous utterance; a mid-sentence correction inside one utterance ("…grocery store. No, scratch that. …pharmacy.") is smart cleanup's self-correction territory (Light/Polished, plain utterances).

Internos 2.0.0-beta.4
Beta-3 feedback: filler removal is back for every utterance.
- Utterances containing snippets or spoken commands now get deterministic filler stripping ("um", "uh", "erm"-class vocalizations) — no model involved, so nothing can be invented. "um my GitHub handle is uh snippet t k sun w" → "my GitHub handle is tksunw".
- Plain utterances keep the full Light/Polished model cleanup, and now fall back to the same filler strip if the model times out or its output is rejected — Light/Polished always at least removes filler.
- Words that need judgment ("like", "you know") are still left to the model path only; the deterministic strip never touches real words.

Internos 2.0.0-beta.3
Fixes from beta-2 testing:
- Command mode now actually sees your selection. macOS 26 rejects the systemwide accessibility focus query even for trusted apps; selection capture and direct insertion now go through the target app's own accessibility element. Side benefit: dictation had been silently falling back to the clipboard swap every time — direct (clipboard-free) insertion now works as designed.
- Smart cleanup can no longer invent text. An utterance mixing dictation with a snippet or spoken command now skips cleanup entirely (the model was completing the dangling fragments — that's where the fabricated markdown link came from), and any model output containing a URL or link you didn't dictate is rejected outright.

Internos 2.0.0-beta.2
Fixes from beta-1 testing:
- Snippets now match what the recognizer actually hears. Spelled-letter names like "t k sun w" arrive from the recognizer as "TK sun W" or "T. K. Sun W." — names and replacement triggers containing single-letter tokens now also match on their squashed form, and command prefixes ("Snippet," / "Emoji," / "Hashtag,") tolerate the commas auto-punctuation adds. Your existing saved snippets should just start working — no need to re-add them.
- Command mode now says why when it can't run. It rewrites selected text: select something, hold Right Command, speak the instruction ("fix the spelling"), release. With nothing selected the floating panel now tells you, instead of just beeping. (For polishing your own dictation as you speak, use Settings → Processing → smart cleanup.)

Internos 2.0.0-beta.1
Beta preview of the v2 feature set — for testing, not general use. Built from the v2 branch.
What to test
- Command mode: select text anywhere, hold Right Command, speak an instruction ("fix the spelling", "make this friendlier"), release. The selection is rewritten in place, entirely on-device. Requires Apple Intelligence. Any failure leaves the selection untouched; the original text is under menu → Copy Last Raw Dictation.
- Accessibility-direct insertion: dictation now inserts straight into the focused field where apps support it — the transcript skips the clipboard entirely. Clipboard swap remains the fallback. Worth testing across Cocoa apps, browsers, Electron apps, and terminals.
- Live preview: the floating indicator shows words as they're recognized while you speak.
- "Scratch that": say it as its own utterance to delete the previous insertion (one level, same app).
- Languages: Settings → Language lists all supported recognition locales; switching may download that language's model. Spoken commands stay English.
Known limitations
- The in-app update checker won't offer 2.0.0 final over this beta — install the final release manually when it ships.
- Smart cleanup still defaults to Off.
Install: download the DMG, drag Internos to Applications. Notarized and stapled.

Internos 1.2.0
Added
- Personal dictionary: configurable spoken-phrase replacements ("cube control" →
kubectl), matched whole-word and case-insensitively, output typed exactly as configured. Managed in Settings → Customizations with search, enable/disable, and JSON import/export (Merge or Replace). - Voice-triggered snippets: say "snippet <name>" to insert saved text verbatim — multiline and Unicode safe, static text only.
- Structured voice commands: "new line", "new paragraph", "bullet point", "numbered item" (numbers continue; a new paragraph resets to 1), "open/close quote", "open/close parenthesis", and a "literal" escape that keeps the next command as plain words.
- Smart cleanup (optional, on-device): Settings → Processing offers Light (filler words, repetitions, false starts, self-corrections) and Polished (smooths fragments into prose) modes powered by Apple Intelligence's on-device model. Off by default; bounded by a two-second deadline; always falls back to the exact transcript. Nothing leaves the Mac. Requires an Apple-Intelligence-eligible Mac.
- Last-dictation recovery: menu items to Copy, Paste, Copy Raw, and Clear your most recent transcript. Held in memory only — quitting Internos clears it.
- Settings window rebuilt as a resizable General / Processing / Customizations layout with a spoken-command reference.
Includes the 1.1.0 reliability work: transcripts insert in recording order, clipboard restore never overwrites something you copied after dictating, pastes are refused if you switched apps mid-transcription (transcript preserved on the clipboard), Pause cancels everything in flight, and releasing the dictation key while its left-side twin is held now stops recording.
Install: download the DMG, drag Internos to Applications. Notarized and stapled.
