agentvcr 0.7.1: secrets in any format
- Masking catches secrets in any format: the exact values of secret-looking environment variables (
KEY,TOKEN,SECRET,PASSWORD, …) and of a.env/.env.localin the folder you run agentvcr from are masked as[env:NAME]before the patterns run. Values under eight characters and paths are skipped. Suggested in a comment on the launch post (#6). - Security: the share viewer plays gists anyone can write, and counts from the replay data went into the page unchecked, so a crafted gist could run script on the viewer's site. The player now turns every count into a number before drawing; a smoke test plays such a replay. Replays the CLI writes were not affected, since it computes those counts itself.
Thanks to Mohammed Rafay for the idea in a comment on the launch post.
npx agentvcr-cli@latest lastagentvcr 0.7.0: Aider, eight agents
- Aider support, read from aider's own source: the last run in
.aider.chat.history.md, with edits as diffs (search/replace blocks and udiff), blocks that failed to apply marked, commands, commits and token usage. The website accepts the file too. - The summary says "An Aider session" and "An OpenCode session" instead of "A …".
--subagentsreads the subagent transcripts newer Claude Code keeps in<session>/subagents/and merges them in by time; a subagent's task no longer shows as if you had typed it.
agentvcr now reads eight agents: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Qwen Code, Cline (plus Roo Code and Kilo Code tasks in its format), Aider and OpenCode.
npx agentvcr-cli last # the newest session in this project
npx agentvcr-cli last -o clip.gif # as a clip (needs Chrome and ffmpeg)Or drop a session file on the website: it plays in your browser, nothing is uploaded. Action users on @v0 get this release automatically.
agentvcr 0.6.0: Cline and Qwen Code
- Qwen Code support, read from its source:
~/.qwen/projects/*/chats/*.jsonl, following theparentUuidchain from the last record so rewound turns stay out, as Qwen Code does when it resumes. Edits and writes use the before/after content Qwen Code records, so diffs are exact. - Cline support, read from Cline's own source: SDK sessions in
~/.cline/data/sessions(working directory from the manifest next to them) and tasks from before the SDK (ui_messages.json), which is also the format of Roo Code and older Kilo Code tasks. Commands with output, edits as diffs (search/replace blocks, patches, unified diffs), searches, MCP calls and token usage.agentvcr lastfinds them per project, and the website plays a dropped file. - Kilo Code's CLI is built on OpenCode:
kilo export <id> > session.jsonplays as an OpenCode session.
npx agentvcr-cli last # in a project you worked on with Cline or Qwen Code
npx agentvcr-cli --list --all # every session from every supported agentOr drop a ui_messages.json, a Cline .messages.json or a Qwen Code .jsonl on the website: it plays in your browser, nothing is uploaded. Action users on @v0 get this release automatically.
agentvcr 0.5.0: clips and folded runs
- Clips:
-o clip.mp4or-o clip.gifrecords the replay with your installed Chrome and ffmpeg (frame by frame on a controlled clock, so it is smooth on any machine). - Runs of three or more closed calls of the same tool fold into one row ("Read 11 files", "cursor-ide-browser, 8 times") that counts up during playback and opens on click; deep links into a run open it. MCP calls group by server.
- A browser smoke test (
npm run smoke) checks the player, the share viewer and the landing page in headless Chrome, in CI too. - How agentvcr works: the formats and their quirks, the masking rules, sharing without a server and how the player stays fast.
npx agentvcr-cli last -o clip.gif # needs Chrome and ffmpegAction users on @v0 get this release automatically.
v0.4.0: Markdown export, transcripts in PR comments
- Markdown export.
-o session.mdwrites a transcript with each tool call folded into a<details>block (console output, diffs, checklists), ready to paste into a pull request, an issue or docs. - Transcripts in Action comments. The GitHub Action's pull request comment now includes the run's transcript, folded, so reviewers see how the change came about without downloading anything. Long runs are cut to fit GitHub's comment limit.
Install: npx agentvcr-cli · Action: uses: tojacob03/agentvcr@v0
v0.3.1: fast jumps in long sessions
- Skipping to the end, reading the whole transcript or opening a deep link late in a long session no longer blocks the page: 11 ms instead of 4.9 s for a session with 5,000 tool calls.
- The npm package description now lists OpenCode.
Install: npx agentvcr-cli.
v0.3.0: GitHub Action, OpenCode, chapters and tokens
New
- GitHub Action.
uses: tojacob03/agentvcr@v0replays the agent run of a job (for exampleanthropics/claude-code-action'sexecution_file), uploads the replay as an artifact and comments on the pull request; with a gist token it links straight to a shared replay. - OpenCode. Replays from
opencode export, both the current and the older export format. - Claude Code SDK output. JSON arrays from
claude -pand the action's execution file. - Chapters and tokens. Sessions with several prompts list them to jump to; the summary shows tokens in and out for Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and OpenCode.
--jsonprints the result for scripts and CI.
Install: npx agentvcr-cli (published on npm as agentvcr-cli).
v0.2.0: share links, Cursor and Gemini CLI, Claude Code plugin
New
- Share links.
npx agentvcr last --shareuploads the masked replay as a secret gist on your GitHub account and prints a link to the player at https://tojacob03.github.io/agentvcr/v/. No server in between; delete the gist to take it down. - Cursor and Gemini CLI. Replays from Cursor agent transcripts and Gemini CLI chats (JSONL with rewinds and patches, plus the older JSON files), next to Claude Code and Codex.
- Claude Code plugin.
/plugin marketplace add tojacob03/agentvcr, then/agentvcr:replayor/agentvcr:replay shareinside a session. - Play in the browser. Drop a transcript on https://tojacob03.github.io/agentvcr/ and it plays there, parsed and masked in your browser.
- A player that looks like a VCR. Blue-screen summary with a diffstat, a waveform of the session to scrub, a fluorescent counter of real working time, and 1×/2×/4×/8× one click away.
Fixed
- A written file no longer counts its trailing newline as an added line.
- Deep links (
#42) stop exactly at that step.
Install: npx agentvcr-cli (published on npm as agentvcr-cli).
