SnapPile is a temporary visual clipboard for AI workflows: capture an area, keep it briefly in a floating stack, and drag it where you need it.

What's new since 0.2.0

  • Automatic updates. SnapPile checks GitHub for a new release once a day, downloads it in the background, and installs it when you quit, since quitting discards the pile anyway. Install and Restart in the menu or in Settings → Updates updates right away and asks first if the pile contains images. Turn off Install Updates Automatically to check only on demand.
  • An update is installed only if the download matches the SHA-256 digest GitHub publishes for it and the app inside is signed by the same Developer ID team as the running app.

Starting with this version, future releases install themselves. Earlier versions need this one installed manually once.

Install

Download SnapPile-0.2.1.dmg, open it, and drag SnapPile into Applications. Launch it from Applications; the app lives in the menu bar. Onboarding guides you through Screen Recording permission and optional Input Monitoring for the two-Option shortcut. If macOS asks you to restart after granting access, quit and reopen SnapPile.

Requires macOS 14 or later. Universal app for Apple Silicon and Intel, signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. The interface currently ships in English only.

Drag acceptance depends on the receiving app. Copying or saving the PNG provides an alternative.
